Quote of the day

On Kelo, a reader emails:

this is not the time to be whining about armed insurrection, but a time to use the constitutional, moral tools at our disposal – the political process, and our ability to influence our fellow citizens.

[snip]

The good news is that almost everybody is pissed off about this – even DailyKos is on our side. I think we can see to it that the court’s ruling was a wake-up call rather than a defeat.

Update: Apparently, Kosmonauts are, again, not on the side of freedom.

I don’t understand this comment. I have yet to see, in America, where a police station has been attacked, a politician tarred and feathered, (or even discomfited), an appraisal district office burned, an IRS agent bludgeoned…or any official at ALL even seriously threatened. No one is going to shoot, attack, destroy or even much complain.
OK, there have been a couple of nutcase examples, but they were quickly dispatched by heroic SWAT teams and the matter cleaned up pretty fast.
And working the system? The very elite TOP of the system just told the citizens to go pound sand. Work the system for WHAT…exactly?
The Bill of Rights is done and the slaves are not about to revolt. The children, it turns out ARE in the right system: public schools where they learn to operate under a zero tolerance bureacracy.
It was a good idea while it lasted, but but its really been over for some time.

I think people on the left are beginning to realize that there’s enormous power in being able to screw political enemies legally while making money at the same time.

Instapundit linked to a Kos diary that was supportive of the decision, but most of the comments expressed opposition.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
