A PA doctor used his gun to shoot a crazy person who shot his case worker. Good thing the good doctor had the sense to disregard the hospital’s “no firearms” policy: Employees are prohibited from bringing firearms or explosives of any kind into the workplace.

Seems he had to hold fire to avoid hitting passers-by: “I know after he saw me, I think the last shot he fired was the one he used on himself.” Other cases of mass-murderers v. armed citizens here and here.
