2nd Amendment Supporter Thrown Out of N.J. Meeting By Police After Criticizing Gun Control

Reasoned Discoursetm

Wednesday, May 15th, 2013

So, there’s a “I’m a gun owner but” face book group. If you don’t agree, they don’t want to hear from you. Personally, I support reasonable gun control. It’s perfectly reasonable to pass a law saying that shooting people is against the law.

I expect it from anti-gun people but not from Texas CHL forum. Update: Edited based on a comment from Alan regarding the relationship between TX CHL and TSRA.

Countdown to Reasoned Discoursetm

Thursday, September 23rd, 2010

Sebastian does a good job answering the questions of a Brady Board Member. And this Brady Board member has a blog. Update: I am told that Reasoned Discoursetm is already in effect. Heh. They only know the one song, you know.

Reasoned Discoursetm

Thursday, June 4th, 2009

We expect it from anti-gun bloggers. And anti-gunners. So, no surprise when the anti-gun crybabies bar folks from their press conference, after all you can’t have facts getting in the way of opinion when your entire ideology is centered on misleading people. But when state senators from NY refuse to hear the other side, that’s […]

Countdown to Reasoned Discoursetm

Monday, February 23rd, 2009

Sebastian: Given the recent dominance of gun bloggers on the Examiner.com sites, it would probalby the last place I’d want to take an anti-gun stance. And what a post it is: Philadelphia Police officer John Pawlowski was not killed by Rasheed Scruggs — he was killed by the .357 pistol that Scruggs was using.

Say you do a post on guns. You get substantially everything wrong, including gun laws, types of guns, and everything else. Someone advises you of your error. You reply with: I’ve been harassed by a commentor (sic). So, I’ve had to pull the story. And what a story it was. There can be no reasoning […]

reasoned discourse

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

Sebastian: The Democratic Gubernatorial Candidate for Governor of Delaware, who’s a dyed in the wool gun hater, has a blog that allows comments.  Be polite.  Be concise, but let?s put some pressure on.  Let him know gun owners are watching.

PGP: Needless to say, at the end Lewis Black (who’s pimped for the Brady Campaign in the past) overrules the audience’s vote at the end of the show and declares the NRA the greater evil. I was quite excited when I heard Lewis Black had his own show. He’s hysterical. However, his show sucks. I […]

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

A bit back, I linked to this post at Lagniappes which was rightfully critical of some of the GOA shenanigans regarding the Olofson case. It was a good read, I thought. Anyway, Sailorcurt left a few comments that showed the inconsistencies in ATF’s actions. But those comments never showed up. Curt cross-posted one of the […]

So, Mayor of Atlanta attaches her name to some astro-turf generated by Mayors Against Guns as evidenced at the bottom of the page: Shirley Franklin is mayor of Atlanta. Contributing to this column were: Tom Barrett, mayor of Milwaukee; Manuel A. Diaz, mayor of Miami; Gavin Newsom, mayor of San Francisco; Greg Nickels, mayor of […]

Reasoned Discoursetm – the final chapter

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Because there was no better source for pro-gun information than the Brady Blog itself, the Brady Blog shut down comments which were pro-gun by about 10:1. Now, they have started going back and deleting all those comments that refuted their talking points. No worries, google is forever. And they wonder why they can’t get traction […]

Ten Times the Reasoned Discoursetm

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

So, The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Ownership now uses their blog to do quicker posts. Kinda like they’re getting the whole blogging thing. Seems that someone at Brady noticed that they had no web-fu. This point was made at the NRA convention too. Of course, we know that’s because they have no real grassroots. […]

Complete with crappy video of already debunked talking points Another one down: Well this video will mark the end of my gun-control blogging career. Of course. Because you lost. Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Some guy named Cliff Lyon is spamming the pro-gun blogs and linking to his post at One Utah in which he takes Alan Korwin to task for asserting: Guns save hundreds of thousands of lives a year. Says Cliff: This is the beauty of the internet. Unsupportable public comments and the people who make them […]

Reasoned Discoursetm

This guy is a special kind of vile. He posts several whoppers about the ban on weapons that look like assault weapons, like: Ban On AK-47 Assault Rifle Used In Omaha Mall Rampage Was Lifted By GOP Congress In 2004 Not so. AK-47s have been banned since 1986. And the WASR-10 was not covered by […]

# 9’s Excellent Adventure in Reasoned Discoursetm

Tuesday, October 2nd, 2007

As you may know last week I took the reigns of Nashville’s television station WKRN website blog NiT “Nashville is Talking”. No one including me knew what to expect. NiT was a pioneer in having not one but two blogs with paid commentators. Brittney Gilbert commented at NiT and Adam Kleinheider commented at Volunteer Voters. […]

Reasoned discourse on liberal bias in the media

Wednesday, September 12th, 2007

There is no liberal bias in the media. Okay, maybe that is not reasoned discourse. Maybe we should consult a different source. The liberal media watchdog group has released a study saying syndicated columnists are dominated by conservatives. From Editor & Publisher: His group found that 60 percent of the daily newspapers print more conservative […]
