It’s like 2004 again

I remember the 04 election and how our friends on the left were shitting their pants and spouting off nonsense about how Bush was not their president. Now, our friends on the right are doing the same thing. Have a nice, tall glass of calm your ass down. In January, there will be a new president. You may not dig his ditch but thems the brakes. So, deal with it by holding your elected officials accountable. Not by giving up.

Does this mean I can’t start selling “NOT IN MY NAME!” bumper stickers?

(I’m thinking that “Charlton Heston is STILL my President” stickers would be a big hit…)

  2. HardCorps Says:

Yes yes…we must all kneel before the throne of washington. We are all American subjects and we must obey the commands of our ‘self’ appointed elite. When they come for our property, we will gladly give what we have to those better knowing of it’s use, and when they come for our gun, we will trust our rulers with our very lives. Because conservatives are too fat to run, and too cowardly to lift even a finger.

  3. SayUncle Says:

because that’s exactly what i said!

  4. Number9 Says:

Time to fix the Republican party. Or start a new one. A real one.

  5. Nate Says:

    I’m hopey for the change….
I guess I’m going to be dumping more money on my cell phone bill because I’ll be on it constantly trying to reign in all the damn goofiness and evil…oh well Carter gave us Reagan, I wonder who Mao Jr. will give us.

  6. Tam Says:

    HardCorps,

    Read English much?

I’m just worried about how I’m going to take that cruise I’ve been planning…you know….now that the seas have parted. 😉

All kidding aside, even though I voted for McCain, I hope for the sake of our country that Obama will accomplish at least half of what he says he wants to do. Preferrably the half that doesn’t include banning any of my Death Machines(tm).

    Worked well so far.

  9. Ron W Says:

    You’re right, Number 9!!

The Republican Party has been serving up phony conservatives for a while now…Bush I, Dole, BushII, McCain. Bush governs mostly from the treasonous left, things go bad…people react agains wht they think was conservative for more and worse of the same ’cause the media tells them he’s a “conservative”.

Obama is NO CHANGE, just a new face on another globalist puppet to carry out orders from the international banking cartel.

Yes we need CHANGE to conservatism and I voted for that…conserve the Constitution, conserve the Bill of Rigths, conserve the Republic!!!

    Barack Obama is OUR EMPLOYEE.

  11. DirtCrashr Says:

It’s not possible for me to hold my elected officials accountable. I’m in a frozen District in California and the Officials are protected by Security in Sacramento. They listen only to their Party and inherit their seats.
We didn’t even participate in the election – the CA electoral votes were already bought, tallied, and thrown into the column on the Left.
But they let me have 10-round magazines…

  12. SicSemper Says:

bwm, DirtCrashr: Do you have rooftops?

  13. KCSteve Says:

Uncle is right – it’s time for us to suck it up and get through the next two years (I expect a Congressional bloodbath in 2010).

But I am going on record:
I will be up early on January 21st and if the Magic Rainbows are late delivering my gold-farting Unicorn there will be consequences.
    Promises have been made.

  14. Kristopher Says:

I’m not going to play the head for the hills game.

I am going to dish out just as much crap to the dems as they dished out to us.

I plan on having fun during the next four years, and will work towards getting sane people elected in 2010.

We will be the ones going home with the Prom Queen in 2012.

  15. DirtCrashr Says:

SicSemper, I have the high ground, but the walls are thin.

  16. aeronathan Says:

Unfortunately he is the president, nay, my president since I’m not a whiny “Bush Derangement Syndrome” liberal. Admitting that does not mean you like him, think he will do a good job, or even respect him as a person. Just do our republic a favor and respect the office and hope someone gets in there in 4 years who’s worthy to hold the office.

I will entertain this even though I am fairly sur eI know where it is going. I am a homeowner, yes. (The actual kind of homeowner, not the kind that lives in a home that the bank owns)

  19. TJ Says:

    Nah, not my president.

But, I won’t be running around saying that all over.

Think resistance. Examples will occur to you.

    Unity? Umm, no.

  20. Nate Says:

I don’t know who all of these people the lightbringer has united are, but yeah…not feeling the unity…and it’s because of his message and his choices. Unity? Nope not a lot of that crappening….

  21. Dan Says:

I will believe it when conservatives start holding up placards labeling Obama = Hitler and comparing him to a monkey.

But give us a few days to mourn the republic. We will stop eventually. God knows, the libs are still replaying 2000.

  22. Scott Says:

The 2010 election has been mentioned in the comments: In the Senate, 19 Republican (including McCain) versus 14 Democrat seats are up. The party with more seats up usually – not always, but usually – has a net loss. Also, McCain, losing his last crack at the presidency, will be 74 and may call it quits, and Pennsylvania’s Specter, currently with health problems, will be 80.
The Republicans have their work cut out if they’re to prevent the Dems getting in 2010 their 60+ Senate they fell short of this time, let alone gain seats.

    Uncle:

I’m curious: Was your admonition to “have a tall glass of calm the hell down” met with as much hostility as my admonition to “chill the fuck out?” It’s like people don’t get snark, or something. Anyway, have a nice day, and see you for beers when I manage to get that way.

  25. DirtCrashr Says:

Love it when you stir things up, gonna love it even more to become a Californian. Feel the Lovey-Changey-Hope.

  26. Sigivald Says:

I’ve fortunately seen a lot less “not my President!” blather in today’s blog-reading than you have, I guess.

A lot of that might be due to the specific contents (I tend to filter out people who’re prone to that kind of thing, I think, and thus don’t read their blogs).

(I also think people on the Right and libertarians both have a better grasp of civics than the average Leftist.)

Ron W: I think the problem with that plan is that “true conservatism” is not very popular and isn’t going to win a Presidential election anytime soon.

That might not be pleasant for you to contemplate, but I see no reason to believe it to be untrue.

  27. Kristopher Says:

Oh, he’s my president … I just despise his politics.

I will run wild for the next four years. We will show the left how civilized people play the politics of destruction game.

  28. Dan Says:

I’m curious: Was your admonition to “have a tall glass of calm the hell down” met with as much hostility as my admonition to “chill the fuck out?” It’s like people don’t get snark, or something. Anyway, have a nice day, and see you for beers when I manage to get that way.”

If you wanted to see real hostility, check out Joe the plumber. Ask a unflattering question of Obama, and the media rapes you.

  29. Zero Says:

But can’t we, just for fun, say “not my president” a few times? Just to irk fans of Obama? Puhleez?!? They really respond poorly to turnabout. 🙂

  30. straightarrow Says:

Now is not the time to despair. That time is past. The time for despair was when us “principles freaks” did it. When we couldn’t get the pragmatists to quit being polite and continuing to lose in a rigged game.

This is now to time to prepare. We have the time. Jan.20 will not be the death of the country. It won’t even be the fatal wounding. That will come with the de facto repeal of the BoR and the appointments to the courts that make impossible the return to a republic steeped in liberty. It will come in small increments, but contuinuously.

At some point there will be a “Civilian Security Force” (brownshirts) by that name or another that will start the door to door hunt for free men, armed men, men of different opinion, men of different political bent. The 40 and 8’s will be utilized. That is the day you prepare for now.

If it turns out I am wrong and it doesn’t happen, or the very real prospect of the consequences us “principles freaks” have tried to warn of, dissuades them, nothing is lost by being prepared and nothing is harmed.

Forget despair, unless it just easier and less risky and therefore more attractive than other routes.

Man if I had only helped elect mccain by knocking on a few more doors, or spending more of my cut the govt gives me after it steals all my money, or if I could have raised my right hand toward mccain just a bit higher..i’ll do better the next election. I love playing this game.

    Tam – spellcheck nazi much?

  32. Saladman Says:

We must not read the same blogs. Who on the right is saying that? I’ve only seen the opposite.

  33. Tam Says:

    HardCorps,

    Tam – spellcheck nazi much?

It wasn’t your spelling I was making fun of, it was your reading comprehension (or lack thereof.)

Don’t get me wrong, though; the spelling’s just super, too. 🙂

  34. Tanya Says:

Have a nice, tall glass of calm your ass down.

Thank you! Could you say it louder, please? Maybe with hand signals?

  35. Sebastian Says:

Great excuse for doing nothing. Please stay out of the way while those of us who are actually willing to do work safe your gun rights.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
