What’s the point?
Of the 90 day background check process to get a handgun carry permit in TN if they’re going to give them to felons any way:
It took one year from the date Bedford was issued a permit for Tennessee officials to determine that he should have been barred from carrying a gun.
A year? then what were you guys doing when you were supposed to be conducting his background check?

Meanwhile the turnaround time for new applicants has grown to 16 weeks, which is what it was 10 years ago!

Now that is priceless! They should probably, you know, check the background instead of just rubber stamping it. Government effectiveness in action right there.

These breakdowns in communication have allowed some felons to stay legally armed.
Wrong, the breakdown may have allowed some felons to falsly believe they are legally armed. Whatever their belief about the situation, they are still illegally armed.
