I do not turn to those things <em>because</em> I am bitter, those are the things <em>I actually care about </em>(family, guns, community). I think this is one of the biggest lessons for Obama, if you have opened your mouth and inserted your foot already, before you try to remove it by opening your mouth wider... you should make damn sure you are not going to end up with your foot deeper than it was before. I am bitter because of Dems and Repubs that try to subvert the 2nd amendment and/or turn a blind eye to (or legitimize) illegal acts so that they can have more power.
