More speculation on the Violence Policy Center’s firearms dealers license

Some speculation in the past that it was illegal. Sebastian says probably not so much.

Update: Seems the Freepers are reading this post and want the original source. Well, screencap evidence is here.

Update 2: Someone at THR has sent a Freedom Of Information Act request.

That’s not to say that it’s not improper though. I doubt just anyone can get all the required licenses from The District’s government. But assuming the VPC called in favors to DC City Government, there’s no reason after that why ATF would have a reason to deny them a federal license.

I am willing to bet that digging into the details is going to reveal a piece of paper with an obvious lie or illegality on it, at which point the fun starts.

Only if the BATFE/DC choose to admit to and pursue the issue. Remember, they’re all on the same side

Having an FFL means that they get the Big Book of Gun Laws ™ once a year.

This moves all arguments of ignorance about gun law to the dumpster and relegates them to 100% untruth and lies.

So are you saying that when the VPC makes a false statement about gun laws that we can’t chalk it up to their ignorance but rather deliberate lies? I’m just trying to clarify the meaning of your statement.

    HAHAHAHAH!!!!

Hundreds of thousands of Americans—including an untold number of criminals—illegitimately possess Federal Firearms Licenses (FFLs) issued by the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) according to a new 138-page study, More Gun Dealers Than Gas Stations, released today by the Violence Policy Center. The study was released at an 11:30 A.M. press conference on Friday, December 11 held at the offices of the Violence Policy Center, located at 1300 N Street, NW in Washington, D.C.
According to Josh Sugarmann, VPC executive director and one of the authors of the study, “The FFL is a public safety scandal created by the very agency charged with enforcing federal firearms laws. By giving a federal gun-dealing license to virtually anyone who can come up with $30 and isn’t a convicted felon, ATF has put criminals in the business of selling guns.”

No shit? Where? It sure is’nt here. We have ONE gun dealer here in Evanston Wyoming and at least 20 gas stations.

“By giving a federal gun-dealing license to virtually anyone who can come up with $30 and isn’t a convicted felon, ATF has put criminals in the business of selling guns.”

Whoa now! If a convicted felon cant get a FFL then how is it that ATF has put criminals in the business of selling guns since, if they’re criminals, they dont qualify for a FFL?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
