“I bought a gun,” he said.

I particularly like this excerpt:

“Why would anyone, who lives in the suburbs of Temecula-a city where its citizens feel safe enough to leave their doors unlocked, find the need to purchase a gun for safety?”
In Temecula California? I worked with a guy the last 3 years before I retired who was from there and from what he told me no one in their right mind would leave ANYTHING unlocked at any time of the day. I think this gal is suffering from a severe case of wishful thinking and/or self delusion.

If a individual decides that owning a firearm is necessary then yes, it is and he/she has the right to make that decision. If Aleksandra dos’nt want to own one it’s her choice and I respect her decision but she should respect the choices of others.

I left a comment over there (yea, I know) but I just had to say:
While I don’t blame this young lady for her thoughts and views, I do blame her for her lack of education. Which of course reflect back on her and the reason for her opinions.
The American kid is not being raised anymore by their parents nor grandparents like it used to be in this Republic.
One of the first things my Grandpa told me was the same thing that his Grampa told him.
“Son, every man should own a gun and be good at using it.”
And he proceeded to give me my first weapon, a Marlin 22.
Over the next few years, he coached and taught me not only how to use a gun, but how to be responsible with it and know when to get it out and for what reasons.
All the girls in our family have been treated the same way. Sex is not something to change the responsibility of gun owenship.
America is going to hell in a handbasket my Grampa told me long ago.
I have remarked the same to my Grandchildren.
They just laugh.
