Do you really think it’s CCW holders doing all the shooting*?

NewsBusters:

On Thursday’s “Anderson Cooper 360,” CNN’s Randi Kaye filed a story in which she promoted gun control as a solution for Philadelphia’s crime problems, as she pushed the argument that the city’s high rate of gun violence was the result of Pennsylvania state lawmakers voting to loosen gun laws in the 1990s. And, as if criminals would bother to apply for a permit to legally carry a concealed weapon, Kaye further suggested that the availability of concealed carry permits has contributed to the city’s problems. Kaye: “In 1995 there were fewer than 800 applications for concealed weapons here. ‘Keeping Them Honest,’ we checked, and today there are 29,000 permits to carry. And it’s against the law for police to ask anyone why they want one. One law enforcement source told me permits to carry are being passed out like candy.”

* well, you might. If you were retarded.

I about blew a gasket when I read that. We’ll see if the blog publishes my comment.

Pennsylvania has some good candy makers but I’ve never had to give my name and finger prints to get a piece. Although, when I was much younger I left my fingerprints all over the place after having Hershey Bar.

A few red flags pop up on this “reporter’s” work: One, how many shootings involved people with CCW permits and perhaps the increase in permit applications is because the city can’t or won’t do anything about the crime. I’m just saying…I would have failed high school journalism if I’d left those questions unaddressed.

“…permits to carry are being passed out like candy.”

That implies that guns are being given to small children. Are they? I don’t think so, so why did she relay such an obvious falsehood? Obviously because the bias was in the direction that she wanted.

“getting a gun is about as easy as ordering a pizza.”

Pre-teen children can call up and order a pizza. Can they legally call up and order a gun? I don’t think so. Does anyone have to fill out a 4473 form and go through a Brady check to get a pizza? I don’t think so.
This rancid bitch works for Anderson Cooper, and she obviously knows which way to bend the story to please her boss. This BS goes straight to Anderson Cooper, unless he apologizes for his underling’s blatant skew, which I doubt he will do since it’s obvious to me that she was reflecting her boss’s own bias.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
