As predicted (continued)
I blogged here about Tennessee’s tax on illegal drugs claiming its first booty. A man claiming to be Jerry Palk (the person whose house was seized for non-payment of the tax that they won’t even let you pay) left some comments there:
The house is worth about $90,000 and I owe $71,000 on it. They taxed me with $139,000 and interest is $1,370 a month and growing. There was only 28 plants and I was renting the house to friends to grow. It wasn’t even mine and they caused me to lose my job. They took 1/2 vacation pay comming to me and took lawnmowers, tiller, chaisaw, pressure washer, and anything else they could find.
He also notes that, as of now, there have been absolutely no charges filed against him. So, they took his land and property without due process of law. He claims that no charges have been filed because the search was bad. I don’t know what he means by that.

The Putnam county sheriff deputy Red Golden entered house on Monday Jan. 31 looking for runaway girls. (1st Illegal move) Discovered room then came back with more officers Wed. Feb 2 and broke out window to get in house still no search warrant (2nd illegal move). Then came to my house and searched it with my permission because I had nothing to hide. Then tells news I confessed and said they found growing chemicals in my house so where is these chemicals Duh there were none all lies. Notified my employer and got me terminated from Dura Automotive Systems in Gordonsville Tn where I was Industrial Maintenance Technician for 7 years and a good one. Now I’m having trouble finding a job,I’m a single parent with an 11 and 12 year old, having trouble getting state help because I owe the state revenue $139,000. They just want to teach you a lesson by ruining your life. As I said before it wasn’t even my crop just rented house out and knew about it. They had to blame it on somebody to get the money to give everyone raises. Punishment is one thing but this is ridiculous. The sheriff got his publicity, the criminal investigator got promoted and now the deputy Red Golden keeps pushing it hoping to get promoted without thinking about his screw up. Just cares about making the news which has been state wide on t.v and papers.
