And an insightful piece by an attendee.

    Meh. Game of Thrones.

    Michael Savage quoted someone the other day;
    “Every great cause starts out as a movement, becomes a business, and eventually detertioates into a racket.”

    I would only add that the second amendment, and the principles behind it, are inseprable. Where people get into trouble is in failing to understand, or believe, the principles. The fakers always put their feet in their mouths.

    It sure smells to me like the “lawsuit” is one cooked up for PR purposes by both Ackerman and NRA — to give NRA brass a foil to point fingers at, to preserve deniability on both sides, and to deflect press inquiries (because can’t comment on pending legal matters) until everything dies down. It also will complicate whatever NY tries to do.

    I’ll just say that in my 13 years as in-house counsel for a couple of nonprofits, I have seen this very tactic used twice to stymie hostile regulators. It’s very effective if done correctly.

    @David, that is an intriguing possibility, not sure there is that level of cooperation there but it seems you know whereof you speak.

    Question though…is North (still) such a selfless soldier as to fall on his sword in this fashion?

    By the time you get to that level, with that kind of history, you bloody well do what you’re told. He was put there and he can be taken out of there.

    They live in an alternate universe of blood oaths, uneasy lotalties, and shgenanigans beyond the imagination.

  5. JTC Says:

    @Lyle, I have no doubt of that level of loyalty, but I fervently hope the cause served is as David speculates and not as a bag man for corrupt ad men.

    But your first comment reveals which you think it is, and I sorrowfully agree.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
