They had a mass shooting, done by someone advancing gun control. The guy was vetted by the police and had a license. So, they banned guns for everybody who didn’t shoot anybody.
Of the 1.2M gun owners registered there, 37 have turned them in.
And, as if to prove they value no rights of the people at all, they banned the nutjob’s “manifesto”, making it a crime for people to have a copy of it.
What a fucked up place.

I looked up New Zealand gun laws after this one. They lost all rights a long time ago. There is no right to self defense, no legal use of deadly force.

This is what happens when all media and education are controlled by the authoritarians.
And of course, the next nut job who wants to kill a bunch of people will have an even easier time doing it.
This illustrates one of the primary tenets of authoritarianism;
When anything bad happens, liberty is to blame, and the solution is more authoritarianism.
So it is that criminals and government end up in a kind of built-in, de facto partnership. Whether they want to be or not, whether they plan together or not, is unimportant; they are allies.
That recent manefesto only makes the point more obvious; here was a criminal who understood that relationship perfectly well, and dutifully played his role. It’s no wonder they want it banned.

Another British founded/controlled nation. What is it about them that they end up with a government that looks okay from the outside, but in reality has little in the way of human rights? All show, and not much go. We appear to be the only one that got a reset, but that difference is rapidly disappearing, and we may be indistinguishable from the rest of the field in another generation.

@Lyle, well said. Authoritarians are always better organized than Liberty. Those of us who love Liberty leave other’s alone. We don’t seek to organize for the control of others. But thst’s what authoritarians do.
