Breaking the law

The CT Supreme Court ruled that a lawsuit over Newtown against Remington can continue.

This clearly violates The Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act.

  1. Ron W Says:

This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land; and the judges in every state shall be bound thereby, AND THE JUDGES IN EVERY STATE SHALL BE BOUND THEREBY; –Article VI, Section 2

  2. pkoning Says:

So they treat the Constitution with contempt. Nothing new here; this has been standard practice since around 1789.
The big question is whether the US Supreme Court will accept an appeal, and if yes, whether they will slap down those guys.

  3. Ron W Says:

As Thomas Jefferson presciently warned, the judiciary would become “a despotic branch” of government. They violate the Constitution and pursuant laws with arrogant impunity.

  4. Ravenwood Says:

I wonder if the families will be able to sue the Democrats and special interest groups to recoup the legal fees that they’re going to have to pay when they ultimately lose.

It’s a real shame that they’re being victimized over and over again to score political points.

  5. rickn8or Says:

Ravenwood, I’ll bet if you chase it back far enough, you’ll find Bloomberg’s signature on the checks to pay the plaintiff’s legal fees.

  6. Ron W Says:

I suppose to be consistent in their judicial opinions (not application of the law), the CT Supreme Court should allow vehicle manufacturers, breweries and distilleries to be sued for DUI injuries and deaths.

  7. Richard Says:

I call it insurrection against the US. Send the troops.

  8. mikee Says:

The lawsuit was allowed to proceed on the narrowest of pretexts, that the advertising of firearms done by Remington violated state law, specifically a state consumer protection law against misleading advertising. This will fail upon appeal, without doubt.

The process is the punishment, however, and the leftists know this, and hey, our complete misinterpretation of the state and federal laws just might squeak through, so why not try it?

  9. mikee Says:

Continuation of the lawsuit seems to have as its goal a fishing expedition into Remington’s corporate communications, seeking anything said that can be used to paint Remington as evil.

  10. mycroft Says:

Not to mention, the shooter murdered his own mother and stole the guns from her. So essentially, the judge’s decision means that Remington’s advertisements somehow incited the matricide.

  11. Ravenwood Says:

If anyone is “marketing” to mass shooters, it’s the media. How about we hold them accountable?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
