Bump stock arrest

Some college kid in Florida. I can’t tell from the article if he had a Drop In Auto Sear. Or if someone just said he did.

I saw another article that specifically mentioned he made a swift link shortly after they became publicized back in December.

    No bump stock. Homemade DIAS.

They fail to mention that DIAS was illegal before the bumpstock ban.

It’s just like how they don’t understand how normal self defense isn’t stand your ground.

  4. Ravenwood Says:

I read earlier in the week that he’d converted 3 AR-15s to full auto using home made DIAS. He even admitted to police that he knew it was illegal, but did it anyway.

It would improve the reporting if news stations or newspapers would employ at least one knowledgeable gun person. It is hard to tell exactly which crime he committed after reading the linked article and the article cited above.

Is he guilty of constructive possession for merely having the components? Did he manufacture a drop-in auto sear? Did he have the DIAS in his AR-15? Did the police have to manipulate components to conduct the test fire?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
