They’re civilized?

The Kind of Men Who Carry Pocketknives

Makes me wonder if anyone under 40 carries one. I know a lot of people who carry a knife daily, but none of them are under 40.

Ravenwood – wonder no longer. I’m under 40 and have carried one everyday for atleast 10 years. Have a few ‘millennial’ coworkers in an office that carry a knife too. Biggest difference I see is we carry some type of assisted-open knife in lieu of the simple Old Timer.

For a while, in high school, where pocket knives were banned, I carried a pair of folding scissors. They were so damn cute, and I could use them to cut rubber tubing in Chemistry labs. My Chem teacher, upon seeing me pull them out and cut my tubing to the length needed for the experiment of the day, asked to see them. Then he asked where he could get a pair, too.

Men who carry pocket knives often recognize that rules are there to keep people from doing something stupid, and that beyond that purpose they have none.

I know a couple of guys in their early 30s that carry. And like ShooterG said, they’re assisted opening.
I always have 3 on me and a multitool in my backpack. I’ve been in a new job for only a month and have already answered the call for a phillips screw driver. I’ve never understood why so few software people carry knives or tools. A basic swiss army knife can do wonders.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
