Mike Pence looking forward to being the next LITERALLY HITLER

So, with Cohen and Manafort down, then comes a bunch of immunity deals for folks close to Trump. Something is up. And I’m not certain what.

You can’t indict a president. He’d have to be impeached. Barring some unforeseen election results, I doubt the votes are in the house for it. And the votes in the senate aren’t there. Trump is too egotistical to resign. The next little bit should be very interesting.

  1. Drake Says:

For what crime would Trump be impeached? Having a bad lawyer? Manafort’s charges had nothing to do with Trump.

  2. mikee Says:

How long would it be before this all stopped, after Trump publicly announces that he is considering re-opening the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s security transgressions, the Uranium One deal, the Clinton Foundation and the previous “investigations” into same?

I’m guessing about one New York minute, or less.

  3. Quirel Says:

Well, impeachment isn’t a criminal matter, it’s a civil matter. Get the votes, and you can impeach the president for a bad combover. If Republicans lose enough seats in the house, the Democrats don’t need any evidence of conspiracy to impeach Trump.

  4. SayUncle Says:

Drake, I have no idea. Just speculating aloud. All I know is they don’t usually hand out immunity via a Pez dispenser.

  5. Ratus Says:

This is how you know that Federal legal is absolutely out of control.

When you have someone plead guilty to a felony for something that is not a crime because it is not as bad an outcome as going to trial and winning.

  6. Ratus Says:

    That’s “Federal legal system”

  7. Ratus Says:

“…they don’t usually hand out immunity via a Pez dispenser.”

Unless you are Hillary Clinton or working for Hillary Clinton.

  8. rickn8or Says:

Drake, it seems to be another case of “The process is the punishment.”

  9. Ron W Says:

As I understand, impeachment is for “high crimes and misdemeanors” that occur while a President is in office. These alleged NDA payments occurred prior to Trump taking office and the election. It’s legal to pay someone to keep quiet about something. And even if they were supposed “campaign finance violations”, his campaign would probably be fined.

Reportedly, the Obama campaign in 2008, had 1300 violations amounting to $80 million dollars for which a fine of about $375,000 was paid. There as no call for his impeachment nor was it big deal in the MSM. Why? I suppose it would’ve been racist. Or was he held to a lesser standard? Why?

  10. rickn8or Says:

Ron W, and that’s why the campaign finance laws are toothless; the matter is investigated and the perp is fined AFTER the election, when it doesn’t matter.

  11. JTC Says:

“They don’t usually hand out immunity via a Pez dispenser.” As the talking heads of the teevee anti-Trump conspiracy media say all stern-faced “Highly unusual and gravely consequential”.

Or, just pathetic desperation; after having wasted so many millions on a witch hunt, these servants of the people and defenders of justice are willing to give a free pass and total forgiveness for whatever skeleton anybody may have hidden in their closet. Who doesn’t have something they would rather not have bright light and the long arm of the law shined on? They know that, and are using that fear in absolute coercion if someone, anyone, even if they murdered somebody they don’t care, just give them something, anything on Trump, even if they have to (wink wink) misremember something to do it.

It’s pathetic, and hilarious, but the wags have it right that it has grave consequences for our Republic that it has come to this. And make no mistake, it could be successful in attaining their one and only goal…to drive Trump out, I mean I don’t know how the guy has stood up to this shit and still be doing a pretty damn good job of keeping to his election promises…dude is as tough as nails, just hope he’s tough enough to get through it if that is even possible. Few could, and it’s up to us to stand up when/if called to arms…which it seems is exactly what’s happening right now.

  12. Lyle Says:

It’s all theatre. If you’re engaged in it, you’re looking in the wrong direction. Trump, the Bush family, the Clintons, Soros; they all belong to the same fraternities. By making a show of unfairness toward Trump, they’re getting us to rally behind one of their guys, who, like all the others, runs on leftist/authoritarian doctrine. Now, whether we support Trump or want him beheaded, we’re playing into the hands of the enemies of liberty. It’s their script, they pick the cast, and it’s their theatre.

“Who doesn’t have something they would rather not have bright light and the long arm of the law shined on? They know that, and are using that fear in absolute coercion”

Thus the devil has controlled the world for all of human history. Your only hope is to accept the cloak of righteousness offered to you, as an undeserved gift, by the Son of Man. He’s already taken the blame, and the punishment, for you. But this concept has been so misrepresented and so corrupted by Rome, for so long, that who can even recognize it anymore?

  13. Ron W Says:

But I fear lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.

  14. Ron W Says:

@Lyle, very true words in your last paragraph according to II coffee 11:3 in my last comment.

  15. Ron W Says:

II Corinthians…this I Pad puts out words it thinks you’re wanta say.

  16. pkoning Says:

The Constitution states what is grounds for impeachment. However, impeachment is entirely up to the House and the Senate; no court has anything to say about it. So in practice, anything is impeachable if the House votes it so. The Dems intend to impeach Trump for having defeated Hilary; whatever excuses they make are just a smoke screen.

  17. wizardpc Says:

“It’s legal to pay someone to keep quiet about something.”

Dennis Hastert would like to talk to you about that, but he’ll be in prison for the rest of his life for making payments to a blackmailer.

  18. Ron W Says:

@wizardpc, no, not the same thing with Hastert. His payoffs were to hide sex crimes against underage victims and bank crimes in making unreported withdrawals (structuring):

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/national-security/victim-testifies-that-dennis-hastert-sexually-abused-him-as-a-17-year-old-boy-i-was-devastated/2016/04/27/b38791ea-07ef-11e6-b283-e79d81c63c1b_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.b5d8c06a4c52

  19. JTC Says:

It may all be theater but the final act has yet to be written, as referenced in my final line above.

And while even all of that may be preordained, it is not in a way that we can understand; to believe otherwise is to reject the gift of self-determination He gave us.

So while the simplicity of Divine absolution is our only salvation Divine intervention is not our (only) path to it.

All of which is all Greek (as it were) to most politicians as they sell their souls to save their asses which is the point of the post and my comment.

I have come to believe that Trump is the exception to that. If not…well, believers still have our cloak.

  20. JTC Says:

And as to that mortality and the devil gleefully getting his due of bought souls, my comment at DBD last night:

    “So Traitor John is dead.

A disappointment to his father and grandfather, an inept wastrel who lived off false entitlement, some would say stolen valor, and absolutely a traitor to his country.

Hard now to believe I once had a Maverick/MILF ’08 sticker on my truck bumper. More for the milf than him, and let’s face it the alternative was unthinkable.

Sorry for his family’s loss, but not sorry to see him go.

    Enjoy your just deserts, “Mav”.

Ignore the hemi though; four Ford earth-effer’s since then.

  22. JTC Says:

And in a final act of betrayal:

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/msn/john-mccain-reportedly-requested-obama-george-w-bush-give-eulogies-at-his-funeral/ar-BBMrWfW

As the proglodyte airwaves are singing his praises.

  23. Ron W Says:

@JTC, of course, McCain wants to fellow-traveler globalists to eulogize him. He was never a “maverick” except as a phony conservative, but right in the thick of the political establishment.

  24. Sigivald Says:

Yeah, I’ve been “enjoying” watching people hand-wave around how Manafort’s dealings long before he was Trump’s campaign manager for a while somehow prove the President is a crook Because Shut Up.

  25. JK Brown Says:

I’m still looking for the ultimate absurdity.

Trump’s impeached with the process ending mid-2020, followed by his re-election that November.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
