Help a friend out

Longtime gun and civil rights blogger Kevin Baker, of The Smallest Minority, is having some health issues. His family could use your help. Go here if you’d like to help them out.

I’ve known Kevin for a long time. He’s been to my house. He’s a fine man.

Don’t know him per se, but I do know that beyond the epic posts he is famous for, is a very decent and caring individual.

Way back in the dark ages of blogging (for me that was about ’06), I had just semi-retired the first time from the pawn and gun biz, moved to our North Georgia mountain place, and finally with some time to relax and read, I was lured in by Xavier’s Pawn Circuit, thence to a brilliant wag named Tam as she was about to go all Yankee (and in spite of subsequent events I was supportive and I think helpful in that) and finally a few other old hands like Unc here, Chris Muir’s DBD…and Kevin.

As I mused along with a few others about my favorite books I mentioned A Boy And His Gun as a boyhood inspiration, wistfully saying I wish I could find a copy. I didn’t know much (nothing) about online sources at the time and Kevin was quick to point me to a place with a good used copy, which I bought, reread, and passed to my grandson to enjoy.

I thanked him then, but I will thank him again with a few dollars, and wish him recovery, good health, and godspeed.

Well crap, I won’t do the CC thing, I’ll have to find another way to help.

I would note that his physical problems have not put a crimp in his thought process or his writing process!

And he’s a lucky dude to have such a loving, caring, appreciative adopted daughter.

Thanks for putting this up Chance, I kicked in a small bit, but I pray that it will help.

I’ve been reading and corresponding with Kevin (usually via comments sections in blogs we both frequent) for a few years. Some details, even if privately offered, would be appreciated. And yes, I’ve already donated; if you say he is in need, that’s good enough for me.

  8. Ron W Says:

I’ve used “the smallest minority” in discussions and debates as the only one that matters re: rights, i.e., the individual, each person.

  9. Old NFO Says:

Donated and boosting the signal tomorrow.

  10. Eric Wilner Says:

Dang. I chipped in a little. I’ve certainly appreciated his writing these past many years.

    Done and done.

Thanks for putting this up. I have no social media accounts whatsoever, and wouldn’t have otherwise known.

    Get well soon, Kevin.

    Done.. get well soon Kevin.

After several weeks of taking Viagra, I got used to it and took the drug only on the weekends. Noticing the changes, my girlfriend started to ask me why I'm so active on weekends. I had to honestly confess everything. She was not upset but supported me. So thanks to Viagra, I made sure that I'm loved just like the way I am.
