I really wish that idiot wasn’t constantly the face of the 2A or the NRA. Bad optics.

  2. Miguel Says:

According to Ted who was seriously pissed, it was the show’s promoter and not him or anybody related to his inner circle.

As usual, the Antis took the info, fudged it and spread it. This is the same as “The NRA won’t allow guns in their Annual Meeting.” s

Ted Nugent once long ago was asked about guns being carried at his show, I think in a 1980s Rolling Stone interview. He told an anecdote about seeing a guy near the front of one concert crowd dancing, waving his 1911 over his head. But because the hammer was down, Ted knew the guy wasn’t going to shoot anyone just then, so Ted kept on playing. But I think he also said he kept an eye on the gun waver just the same.

Now imagine if Ted did drugs.

  4. Will Says:

I don’t remember where I read it, but the promoter stated that the restriction was buried in the fine print of Ted’s contract, and was a surprise to them, considering his reputation.

  5. MrSatyre Says:

I’ve seen more than a few fights at concerts. Add alcohol to the mix, and a moron or two, and it’s a recipe for every Liberal’s wettest anti 2A dream.

  6. JTC Says:

“There’s always that concern when other people are armed…Roanoke Police Lt. Jason Holt said.”

That “other people” mindset by certain onlies is more disturbing than that wackjob faux outlaw rocker who uses our rights as a PR ploy.

OC is stupid in most contexts including this one, but the irony here is fodder for antis.

But way beyond irony is hired guns who make clear that given the choice they would use theirs to deny us ours.

  7. TCK Says:

Shame on Ted for this, and on the NRA for doing the same for some of their conventions!

Wait, you mean it was the venue who made the decision, and Ted had no say in it (and in this case, wasn’t even informed of the restriction until people started complaining)? Well, lets not let a little bit of fake news get in the way of some good ole faux outrage.

I would’ve hoped someone on the front lines of the gun rights movement would have learned by now that actually verifying what the liberal media prints is true before spreading it around should be SOP, but guess the chance to shit on someone you don’t like is a big temptation on both sides of the aisle.

  8. Remington 700 Shooter Says:

It looks like that it wasn’t him but the promoter.

  9. Jeffersonian Says:

To the best of my knowledge I’ve never been to an inddor concert that the venue didn’t prohibit the carry of weapons. In fact I lived 20 years in a town that the main concert venue even prohibited the sale of beer at rock concerts. Excpect for ZZ Top concerts. Which I believe was in their contract. Which was nice.

  10. jerry the geek Says:

It took a couple of days for Nugent’s disclaimer to hit the internet, but he completely denies that he was responsible for banning armed attendees at his concerts.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
