Quote of the day

Kyle Kashuv, the kid the police interrogated after posting about shooting on social media:

This police report shows how incompetent the Cowards of Broward are and how unjustified this interrogation was. They can’t spell “rifle” properly, calling it a “riffle” TWICE, they used my dad’s name for my mom, they practically admit they hadn’t bothered to read the Tweet, yet they had no problem using vicious interrogation tactics on a minor. This is why I went to the range because I need to learn how to protect myself because my area’s law enforcement is systematically incompetent. Honestly, their attempt to silence me in this incident was an epic fail and actually did the polar opposite, so I wanted to thank the Cowards of Broward for strengthening my love for 2A.

    “Cowards of Broward”

    is this a meme, yet?

    Short, pithy, factual.

    Right on, Son, right on!

  3. Ellen Says:

“Broward’s Cowards” is a bit more pithy.

I like this guy! Hell, he’s his own person. Unlike that leftist tool David Hogg.

    Wait to go, kid!

    Yikes! *Way* not *wait*.

In Florida both parties need to allow recording of conversations.

Still, one should not “ask permission” to record the police. One need only state that no further response will be given to them unless they accept that the interaction is being recorded, and the recording is being uploaded live. Otherwise, rest on your Fifth Amendment rights and ask for your lawyer to be present for any questioning.

We advised our son from early on. “If you get called into an “interview” with “security”, “The principal” or “police”, you do not say anything, you do not answer any questions until a parent, and a lawyer is present!

A parent should not have to worry about such things, but our experience was that the school “security” officers were the biggest bullies on the property.

I am so glad that part of life is behind us…

I have strong feelings 25 years later because of a similar situation where police overstepped their bounds and interogated and threatened me for a few hours without my parents as a 15 year old. Actions have consequences. I have no respect for cops, and wouldn’t piss on them if they were on fire. Just a bunch of bullies that I personally have no use for.

    +100 on what harp1034 said!

“Cops” that want to act like dipshits get treated like dipshits.

  11. Paul Koning Says:

Does permission from both parties apply even if one party is a government employee acting in an official capacity?

  12. Will Says:

Paul, IIRC, various courts have opined that police have no expectation of privacy in the performance of their duties, but I’m not sure if that ever reached SCOTUS level.

You mean like a government official that has you in an interrogation room?

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
