The reason: Because I can.

    “The reason: Because I can.”

That’s the only reason that truly counts.

Nothing has to be justified to those whiney spineless lazy libturds, despite what they think.

Well, FWIW, my favorite gun for fun plinking is my Stevens 87A.

I don’t know, Unc, your usually “because Fuck You, that’s why” is my personal fave.

FWIW, cancer treatment has mostly gone well. I just finished phase 2 of induction, and have been off chemo for about a week. one of the chemo agents in the first phase did give me a fucking seizure, so no driving until August, which sucks donkey schlong. The bleed that caused the seizure has been causing chronic headaches, and treating those isn’t easy, but hey, my prognosis is still good, my doctors are good, and my wife is amazing. Roll Tide.

They also forgot that just seeing one makes SJWs, GFWs and Precious snowflakes wet their pants.

Meh. The author is being very NRA-ish, in a combination of waffling, being careful not to offend, and preaching to the choir. But mostly preaching to the choir.

“Many who are ignorant on firearms even consider the gun a “weapon of war,” suitable for nothing but murder and mayhem.”

They “even consider it a weapon of war”, huh? No shit, Sherlock. We are talking about the semi-auto version of a military rifle. Just up and say it. Be honest, and go from there. Or is that too much for you to tackle?

Even if we were talking about the full-on military version, how does the protection of human and rights and liberty (what our military is for, ostensibly) belong lumped in with murder and mayhem? Where did THAT come from? So, you think there’s no difference? Are we assuming that a military is for the purpose of murder?

The muskets mentioned later in the piece were in fact “weapons of war” at the time of the founding, so it’s hard to find a real point in there. And then of course we have to be subjected to baseball and apple pie for some damned fool reason, as though tradition, and some kind of “rah, rah rah, red white and blue!” were more important than first principles.

See; this is the disease that infects and metastasizes throughout the NRA. They can never tell it straight up. It’s just like the Republican Party– They can come close now and then, and sometimes be really close, but always avoid first principles as though pure truth is too….too…too offensive and damaging to the enemy? And then there’s the revenue….

I see it as a lack of confidence, or of faith, and that’s being generous because the alternative is that they wish for the conflict to go on forever without a victor.

Glad to hear it’s going well, Poobie.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
