SAF suing over gunban

Good for them:

The Second Amendment Foundation today filed a lawsuit against the Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Illinois seeking an injunction against enforcement of the ban on so-called assault weapons and large capacity magazines adopted by the Village Board of Trustees earlier this week.

Joining SAF in the legal challenge is the Illinois State Rifle Association and a private citizen, Daniel Easterday, who resides in the village and is a gun owner. The lawsuit was filed in the 19th Judicial Circuit Court in Lake County. Plaintiffs are represented by Glen Ellyn attorney David Sigale.

Unfortunately a federal judge in MA just upheld an AWB and the equivalent of a Regulatory SLAPP enacted outside the legislature by the deranged state attorney general. =(

And looks like they may have to Sue Boulder too.

This is also why they’re trying to go after State Level Preemption. As city councils are far easier to get gun bans than state houses, and if you get enough cities in a state…

Well, after the ban, those evil black rifles sure won’t be in common use any more, so the Heller decision isn’t binding. And Miller isn’t binding because those guns aren’t military issue, like a good old Lee Enfield, or something.

Oh look, the left making more victims of the law abiding. I think that political corruption should carry a 20 year jail sentence, so anyone involved in politics should be held to account for all past corruption. Makes as much sense.

  5. Ron W Says:

@Blounttruth, “the left making more victims of the law abiding” seems to me is why the Article I, Section 9.3 Constitutional ban on laws that do that was put into “the Supreme Law of the Land”.

  6. Blue Falcon in Boston Says:

Lee Enfields have detachable magazines and the UK did make them in more than 10 round capacity during WWI for special purposes.

    20 round trench magazines.

  7. AG Says:

These are all obviously treasonous and subversive elements attempting to undermine and eliminate individual rights and national stability and sovereignty, in order to institute a tyranny. These despots must be removed, peacefully, if possible.
