Quote of the day

I have nothing to add:

Indeed. Just remember that there are no Constitution rights as we know them in Europe, or elsewhere for that matter. “Freedom of speech” actually means “freedom to say those things that have been approved by the authorities”. And “freedom of association” means freedom to join those associations that haven’t yet been dissolved and banned by the government.
You can even find bizarre stuff like the “constitution” of Holland, which states explicitly that courts have no authority to judge the constitutionality of anything.

I used to get into discussions of the meaning of American Exceptionalism on comment threads elsewhere. America is different, that is, an exception compared to all other countries, exceptional, because our fundamental law, the Constitution, recognizes the inherent rights of individuals and establishes a government limited in the authority to infringe those rights. That is worth keeping.

If people were truly awake they would be questioning their 4th. Texas bomber suspect was arrested via stored data that had tracked his cell phone, recalled his travel for weeks, verified his purchases from different locations via phone tracking and receipts stored, and no one thinks this is a problem?

Every search on the internet, ever location you travel to, every purchase you make paints a pretty clear picture, add the ability to access your phones cam without your knowledge as well as your calls and emails, and welcome to the surveillance state that Hitler could have only dreamed of. We already see what it can do to the most powerful man in the world when used illegally, but at least they attempted to make the warrant process look legit, as citizens do not get this courtesy.

The implications for this technology down the road cannot be overstated. All Americans are under constant surveillance, 24/7 we are all “suspects”, no warrants needed as our lives are becoming digital and stored to be used against us at any time, be it by political opponents, or workplace grievance, this data can and will be mined, if not sold outright. But many go along and care less, and perhaps they are right as I may well be dead before the technology provides instant state justice for the crimes of loitering, speeding, selling lose cigarettes; which by the way carries the death penalty via choking.

Americans sold their souls to the state, and even funded it via their tax dollars and did not have a say in the spying apparatus. Have unregistered guns you think are safe? Think again if you have been to a gun store, a shooting range, made any gun type purchases, all legal of course, until it is used to come knocking on your door or worse yet snagging you away from home before raiding your house for those evil guns. Enjoy those chains, if not today then rest assured tomorrow.

Exactly two weeks after the Czech Republic announced that they would challenge restrictive changes to the European Union’s European Firearms Directive in the European Court of Justice, the small nation has once again acted to defend themselves against transnational gun controllers. On June 28, the Czech Chamber of Deputies (the lower house of the Czech Parliament) approved a constitutional amendment to protect Czech citizens’ right to possess firearms and ammunition, with a reported 139 of 200 deputies voting in favor.

Specifically, the proposed constitutional amendment ensures that Czech citizens have a right to keep and bear arms in order to participate in preserving national security.

  5. Lyle Says:

“If the gov’t takes your 2nd Amendment, one day it’ll take your 1st.”

That reads like a warning to you and me, but to some people it’s a win win proposition. No first, and no second? No third through tenth Amendments? Great; then the Progressive/New Age Movement can “get things done” without so-called “human rights” and the “Charter of Negative Rights” that is the constitution “gumming up the works” as Obama very plainly put it.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
