The party of smaller government

Republicans passed a $1+ trillion dollar spending bill. The president signed it. The bill funds gun control.

How’s that repealing Obamacare, National Reciprocity, HPA, and other stuff coming since the Rs have both houses and the white house? Oh, right. I guess Trump is part of “the swamp” now.

Obama: Let’s get the highest national deficit in history!
Trump: Hold my beer.

No. Not really (or more like a maybe with positive reservations). Do you really believe that he can drain the swamp by himself. And the R (who are really tea party) that support him are a real minority. The established R want to lose majority so that things stay the same (they like the swamp) and then “blame” the D for the outcome. People actually believes that he is a Republican and he is fighting Democrats.

He is an American fighting the POLITICAL CLASS in DC (both sides – you should all being seeing it by now).

It took a real long time to get here. It will take more time than we have already “used up” to get it to change in a materiel way.

Notice that he said he was going to veto… and then said DACA and Wall.

DACA is a hit to D

Wall is a hit to R

Both establishments that some call the Uniparty.

Does anyone think the D could have destroyed the Green party after Gore without approval from R?

And notice how the tea party was also burned by BOTH parties.

Answer this question… how many first-world countries have a two-party system?

NONE… even the USA for a long time. They only make you believe that it is so.

  2. homepcmd Says:

So why did he sign it. More than likely due to Mattis saying that the funds for Military can have a long-term positive impact on some of Trumps other things he want to do.

And no matter how you slice and dice this guy… nether his enemies (and even those who call themselves his friend) know what this guy is going to do next (or say next).

Look at it as weaponizing the executive… since even the Bureaucracy is likely against him and those who voted for him.

The people he picked in his cabinet were “turned” (bought them or scared them)…

With what he has already accomplished… consider who is fighting him to stop it.

Also remember that the other option we were given was Hillery.

If you want to help… MAKE THE LIFE of your senator hell until they approve the appointees and the judges that have been in the pipeline for months.

You talk about this swamp and do not notice the other swamp.

Because the establish R wants you to do that and think it’s all the same and a failure.

    Think about it.

  3. FiftycalTX Says:

It was a $1.5 trillion bill. Not $100 trillion unless you intend to include about 140 years of interest payments.

  4. chiefjaybob Says:

Would you rather have Hillary? I’m unhappy with this shit, but the alternative was far worse.

  5. homepcmd Says:

Sometimes… you have to wait and see…

He does seem to be thinking long term… or at least longer than some want to move.

  6. Billll Says:

Mid terms are 8 months away. At this point I could see a lot of R’s simply staying home. Remember what happened to Bush when he folded on his “no new taxes” promise?

  7. Skip Says:

Billll is on it. If we are fed up and stay home, the commies win.

  8. homepcmd Says:

Absolutely… Both Bill and Skip understand.

The establishment R do not want to be majority since it “forces” them to follow the President.

    So…

They lose and then they win since they can then say “but we are the minority” and the go back to the back room and laugh at those who stayed home.

  9. mikee Says:

Bush folded on “No new taxes.”
I don’t see how or where Trump has folded on anything.
He’s lost on a few attempts, but he is continuing to try and being more successful than not.

I, for one, want to see two more Supreme Court nominees before 2021 who act like Gorsuch.

  10. ben Says:

What mikee said. No matter how you slice it, not Hillary is a win for the country every single moment of every day.

“First they came for the Bumpty Stocks, and I said nothing, because I didn’t have one, then they came for Geissle and other Triggers, and I said nothing because I wasn’t a competitive shooter, then they came for…”

This isn’t going to end well.

    OK boys and girls…

    It seems like Trump…

    trumped congress…

Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President:)

In accordance with section 7058(d) of division K of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2018 (H.R. 1625; the “Act”), I hereby designate as an emergency requirement all funding so designated by the Congress in the Act pursuant to section 251(b)(2)(A) of the Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985, for the accounts referenced in section 7058(d).

The details of this action are set forth in the enclosed memorandum from the Director of the Office of Management and Budget.

    Sincerely,

    DONALD J. TRUMP

  13. homepcmd Says:

    Heh… heh…

I guess maybe things are not as bad as it looks.

Again he seems to to punish his enemies..

It looked like they won… and were even celebrating it.

Also remember that this is an omnibus bill… NOT a federal budget.

    The two are different.

This week a lot of heads are going to explode.

I can just bet that he made it up when he said he was going to “veto this bill”

Just to see the reactions of those around him and figure out who is on which side.

  14. Paul Says:

My take on this is Trump will simply not spend $$$ that is allocated on things he does not want to spend it on. Bunch of federal spending in states he does not want spent, he just sits on it. No law against the government not spending it’s own money.

We will see after mid-terms if the Dems take the house or senate. If not, Trump will keep draining.

  15. Sigivald Says:

I don’t care about/for the President, as such.

But I do think it we’re gonna talk deficits, we need to blame Congress, because they make and control the budget.

And they’re also the ones (the Rs) that occasionally claim to pretend to care about the budget and deficit.

(The President can veto it, sure, but let’s keep our expectations realistic here, eh?

I don’t recall Trump running as a fiscal conservative/balanced-budgets guy, offhand; it certainly wasn’t Core Message.)

  16. JTC Says:

Nope, dude ran on immigration, the wall, o-care, gun rights, and military readiness. Pretty good want list, and pretty good ongoing progress on all of it…and none of it is cheap.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
