And Fix NICS wouldn’t have stopped this

The Daily Wire:

On Wednesday, acting FBI deputy director David Bowdich testified during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that former President Barack Obama’s Department of Justice forced the FBI to delete over 500,000 fugitives, who had outstanding arrest warrants, from the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

Fugitives from justice are prohibited persons.

“Fugitives from justice are prohibited persons.”
Not any more. That’s another Fast & Furious type action, and we’re supposed to blame the NRA, the second amendment, and all who favor the right to keep and bear arms.

We must be careful though; purchasing a gun, in and of itself, isn’t a criminal act. Not ever (unless you’re knowingly purchasing a stolen gun). Remember; even fugitives from justice have constitutional rights. The very notion of “prohibited persons” is an infringement, and one infringement always leads to another.

    Imagine a world without infringements
    It’s easy if you try
    No “prohibited persons”
    Anyone can buy…

Rather; they could have taken the kid in for making credible death threats. No gun laws necessary.

  3. Ron W Says:

And now there are public death threats being made against the NRA–even on a billboard, yet the FBI is apparently ignoring it, just as they did when the school shooting perp made criminal threats.

  4. nk Says:

Well … if you don’t show up for your traffic ticket for, let’s say, driving on the median, on the assigned court date, you are technically a fugitive from justice, so ….

  5. Jay Dee Says:

Government is different from the real world. In the real world, failure is met with loss of employment. In the government realm, failure is met with more money. What better way to get more money for NICS than “losing” the records of half a million criminals.

  6. Joseph Mcdermott Says:

If I understand correctly, the FBI was using a broader definition of fugitive than the ATF was. DOJ sided with ATF and narrowed the definition. So if you have a warrent for unpaid traffic tickets and don’t flee across state lines, you’re not a fugitive

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
