The mayor of Dallas, butthurt over something, wants the NRA to not have its convention there. I’m guessing NRA membership in Dallas is pretty high.

Mayor Pro Tem, not the real mayor. He’s the, “fine, we’ll let the black guy run the meetings that matter so little I don’t even show up” mayor.

I am hoping for the passage of National Reciprocity, and then NRA Conventions in Washington DC and NYC.
I want to see the elite hoplophobes of those cities realize that 100,000 gun owners and permitted carriers actually make their cities safer for a week.

The NRA always holds conventions out of town, thus DC would likely never happen.

Freedom of assembly, thwarted by a local mayor in a non-viewpoint-neutral way? Chilling of freedom of speech? Denial of access to a civil rights group for their annual meeting to petition the government?
It’s Joe Huffman who keeps calling for trials for Deprivation Of Rights Under Color Of Law, 18 U.S. Code § 241. Maybe this is a good example for DOJ to pursue.
