Meanwhile in Chicago

Commissioner Suggests U.N. Send Troops To Fight Quiet Genocide Of Gun Violence In Chicago

Unpossible. Chicago has all those gun laws.

To paraphrase Rick, “Well there are certain sections of the South Side, Major, that I wouldn’t advise you to try to invade.”

  2. Paul Koning Says:

I would think that a US government official asking another country to send its soldiers here would be a textbook example of treason, right? “Waging war on the United States” and all that…

  3. Flight-ER-Doc Says:

If the established leadership (I won’t call it government) of Chicago and Illinois is unable to provide a republican form of government, the state should be disbanded, reduced to territory, and administered by the US Army….

Of course, all those asswits that haven’t been leading or governing will be locked up in the stockade…

  4. Ron W Says:

In years past, any suggestion that foreign troops were inside or would be bought in to the U.S. was denounced with derisive name-calling like “conspiracy theorist”, and “tin foil hat kooks”, yet here it is being suggested by “mainstream politicians”. I wonder if BLM will obediently stand down if some of their non-compliant, impudent peeps are shot by the UN blue helmets? It would seem that to do this LAWFULLY (as though that’s a consideration) Illinois, along with Chicago, of course, would need to secede and become a separate nation able to form agreements with foreign entities. Go ahead, there is NO power delegated to the United States in the Constitution to prevent a “free and independent State” from doing so.

  5. rickn8or Says:

Ron W, there might not be anything in the Constitution preventing it, but I seem to recall reading of a spirited discussion about it about 160 years ago.

  6. nk Says:

Chicago is a “shall issue” “stand your ground” city just like the rest of the State of Illinois. It might have a ban on laser pointer sights for CCW guns.

  7. Ron W Says:

@rickn8or, yes, it went beyond “spirited discussion” and was imposed UNLAWFULLY by force . The United States government, a creation of the States, may no NOTHING without delegated power from them according to the clear wording of the 10th Amendment. And I’m not aware of a delegated power in the Constitution to prevent “a free and independent State” from leaving the Union. Otherwise the Constitutional remedy is in Article IV, Section 4 whereby a State Legislature or Governor may request Federal assistance to restore and maintain law and order.

  8. Ron W Says:

    @ rickn8or,

Additionally, what an official of Chicago, Illinois has proposed in bringing in “a foreign Power”is expressly forbidden in the Constitution:

No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay. –Article I, Section 10.3

Certainly the U.S. Government and The President would have the LAWFUL power and duty to prevent it.

  9. Maxwell Says:

    “Lawful power”??

    “Duty”??

What do those words even mean anymore?

  10. Ron W Says:

    @Maxwell, yep.

“How strangely will the Tools of a Tyrant pervert the plain Meaning of Words!” –Samuel Adams

  11. majmike Says:

Blue helmets make good aim points.

  12. HL Says:

Chicago is plagued by more than just orcs. It is riddled with race hucksters and machine politics.

Not with 10,000 one-worlders could you do this. It is folly.

  13. Fred Says:

Let me see a blue helmet in east hillbilly Tennessee, let me see just one…

  14. Lyle Says:

Create a crisis, let it fester long enough, and the people will welcome their new storm trooper overlords as saviors.

  15. Bill P. Says:

Aren’t there a multitute of cases where UN peacekeepers have committed atrocities such as rape murder and massive ecological damage?

  16. Mostly Cajun Says:

Which UN peacekeeping troops? The bunch that can’t keep a lid on the Middle East?

Or the ones raping their way across Africa?

  17. John C Stephens Says:

The UN and Chicago deserve each other.

  18. Ron W Says:

@Bill P. and John C Stephens, yes and yes. The left in Chicago–and the rest of the country would love to have foreign UN troops brought in. Back in the 90’s, Bill Clinton wanted “weapon sweeps” in these communities prone to “gun violence” enforced by guns, of course. Then they would say, let’s let them do it to the rest of the country. Because as they claim, the “gun violence” in Chicago is because the guns come from places like Indiana and Wisconsin–and the rest of “flyover country”. Black lives wouldn’t matter by UN gun violence, just as they ignored Mariam Carey, an unarmed mother with a small child being killed for crashing through a temporary barricade in front of the White House–when Obama was there.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
