A man was arrested with two machine guns and 900 rounds of ammo in his car. The police make it sound like he was up to no good.

To some cops, everyone is up to no good.

    Dear Uncle:

I’m going to be driving to Colorado soon with about a dozen weapons and a few thousand rounds of ammunition.

    Should I be worried?

  3. Paul Koning Says:

The article mentioned the auto weapons were “not registered and had no serial numbers”. That clearly is not a good thing. The latter could be ok if they were 80% lowers, but that doesn’t give you a legal path to a full auto rifle.

Whether he was “up to” no good or not, if all the details in the story are accurate, he was/is no good.

And anyone who defends his actions is no good too.

  5. GMC70 Says:

Aside from the license violation, just what was his “action?” He possessed weapons; how does that hurt a single soul? If he had actually committed a crime or some violence with them, sure; but at this point it’s still just possessing stuff. Mere possession of “stuff” should never (almost – absolutes are tricky) be a crime.

GMC70, remember you can go to jail in TN for possessing the wrong plants.

  7. JTC Says:

GMC70, possessing some stuff is a crime, receivers converted to FA with numbers removed included. Also most activity goes to intent as to whether or not it is criminal. Granted someone has to anticipate whether there is criminal intent, but in this instance the entirety of the facts as reported is a pretty good bet. And he was illegally operating his vehicle; once stopped should he have been ticketed and sent on his merry way? At some point judgment comes into play in LE. Sometimes it’s not very good. This time it was.

Anyone else notice the lack of a sighting system on the .308? Kind of hard to aim effectively.

  9. JTC Says:

.45ACP, no aiming required to pull a Paddock. Just sayin’.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
