Shooting in Vegas

I’m sure you already know about it. Last I heard, 58 dead and 515 injured. Usually when the press says fully automatic fire, it’s bullshit or they’re confusing it with semi-auto fire. Based on poor quality cellphone video, I thought the press was correct this time. FoxNews is reporting the shooter had converted AR-15s. The NYT reports there were two scoped rifles as well. Now, it could be editing or echo from surrounding buildings but the bursts seemed to last longer than a burst from astandard magazine. Sebastian noticed this too and did some math. And it’s reported the shooting lasted about 10 minutes. And the police took well over an hour to bust in the guy’s door.

ISIS says this wealthy, retired man with planes is one of theirs. Uh huh. But people are already playing pin the political affiliation on the nut job. A game that always gets played after one of these. And a game nobody wins.

And at CBS, an executive says it happened to people who listen to country music, who are probably racist, Republican Trump supporters. So fuck them. So, now I guess we’re playing pin the political affiliation on the victims too.

I’m holding off on speculating for now. Too much is not known.

No need to speculate beyond; he was a mixed-up, messed-up dude.

How he got that way? Well it wasn’t from reading, understanding and accepting the words of Jesus, that’s for sure.

Whether he was “put up to it” by some force of culture or other isn’t debatable either. There’s more than enough darkness (actual promotion of darkness) in culture and media from which to draw if one is looking for it. The exact details however are not important.

He didn’t believe in the sanctity of life, he didn’t believe in unalienable rights, or innocent until proven guilty, and he didn’t believe in…well you get the picture.

Did he pick the venue because it was a country music concert? No way to know unless he said or wrote something as a clue. Maybe it was because there were a lot of easy targets in a place he knew well.

Of course there are unanswered questions, but we’ll know if and when we know.

The shot timer app on my phone ID’D 215 shots in the first minute. Some of them may have been reverb off other buildings. But that is continuous fire. Maybe a 100 round drum that actually functions?

If he did indeed do it, I guarantee he’s on meds for depression or anxiety.

    “Converted AR-15’s” ??

What a perfect opportunity to demonize the most popular (most common?) rifle in America!

I’m waiting for the obligatory “junk-on-the-bunk” photospread.

  6. Robert Says:

Well, we’ve already had the “high powered rifles capable of penetrating police body armor” from ABC news. And the “thousands of rounds of ammo” and Tannerite found at his house, supposedly.

  7. Hartley Says:

At least CBS managed to can that “legal executive” right away..
