Revisiting their creation science

Again, it’s hip for anti-gun people to argue the whole bogus militia collective right nonsense. We’ve already had the debate. You lost now get over it.

They can’t afford to get over it. Central Planning means a small cadre of smart people have to be in charge of everyone else, which means that all rights, ultimately, have to be “collective rights”. If they cede that premise, their entire authoritarian system falls like a house of cards and that can’t be allowed to happen.

Their only option then is to repeat the lie until few people ever hear (or consider) anything else.

The American Promise (of liberty, responsibility, and the requisite hard limits on government) is readily knowable to anyone. Doesn’t matter; some people reject the whole concept as a “charter of negative rights” (“freedom”, to them, is the freedom to control you), and a petty little thing like a constitution or a court ruling won’t, can’t, change that.

  2. Lyle Says:

Besides; the founders were patriarchs (now synonymous with evil) who owned slaves, and so the baby of liberty must be thrown out with the bath water of human imperfection. So shut up.

  3. Ron W Says:

“Militia” in the 2nd Amendment sentence, is, according to multiple founders’ quotes, an armed citizenry, which must agree with “the People” in the main clause or else it is totally contradictory. Also it references Article I, Section 8.15-16 which only delegates power to the general government “for governing such part of them (the militia) as may be called into service and EMPLOYED…”. The government has NO RIGHTS, only delegated powers from the People. Therefore, it is utter grammatical and Constitutional nonsense to assert that the People must be be a part of the government ( called into its service and employed) in order to exercise any of the DECLARED rights of the People in the Bill of Rights.

  4. Ron W Says:

“The constitutions of most of our States assert, that all power is inherent in the people; that they may exercise it by themselves, in all cases to which they think themselves competent, (as in electing their functionaries executive and legislative, and deciding by a jury of themselves, in all judiciary cases in which any fact is involved,) or they may act by representatives, freely and equally chosen; THAT IT IS THEIR RIGHT AND DUTY TO BE AT ALL TIMES ARMED; that they are entitled to freedom of person, freedom of religion, freedom of property, and freedom of the press.” –Thomas Jefferson

I first started reading a lot about gun control at the time of Heller. I have seen no new arguments for gun control since then. Nada. Zip. Zilch. The same old, discredited arguments are presented as if they have never been made before, and might still have a chance at being true this time. Wishful thinking combined with utter ignorance is not way to go through life.

  6. rickn8or Says:

mikee, evidently the thinking among the anti-gunners is that it’s been long enough since Heller that they can start floating the collective-rights argument again.

  7. Lyle Says:

“Wishful thinking combined with utter ignorance is not [the] way to go through life.”

mikee; obviously it is, for millions and millions of people. Your statement is therefore a blatant contradiction of observable fact.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
