Here are what are reported to be Glock Generation 5 photos. No finger grooves, ambi slide release, and reversible magazine release are the updates. And those are good ones.

Well surely the finger grooves were put there because they fit someone’s hands nicely. They fit mine, and I like my finger grooved G20 SF. The combination of a slightly reduced grip circumference and the grooves is a vast improvement over the earlier G20 I got in 1994 – I picked up the SF, gripped it, and bought it on the spot based solely on its superior feel, though I wasn’t even shopping for a new gun. While I can appreciate other people’s disdain for that which does not fit them, I will not join the chorus of the anti-finger-groovers (the AFG) in this case. From a marketing standpoint I suppose it is better to leave off the grooves, and thereby the pistol kinda sorta fits most everyone and you have a gun for the proletariat.

I love the finger grips on the full size and sub-compacts. However, I can’t stand a G-19. My fingers overlap on the grips, making holding one very uncomfortable.
Most of my compatriots carry a G-19, and they can’t understand why I don’t like the grip of it. I know that I’m in a small minority, but I’m not wasting my money on something I don’t like but want to.
I’m sure I’ll be picking up a 5th Gen.

I’ve never understood the claims of “natural pointability,” mostly because it’s never been explained properly to me. To me, the grip to the Glock seems to be the same as any other pistol I’ve fired.

The Luger, the Ruger .22, and Glocks all have a similar grip to barrel angle. It positions the wrist at it’s limit of travel to align the sights to your eye.
Most people who first hold those 3 guns will fire a round over the berm if they point shoot. The majority of handguns will put a round into a silhouette target when shot by most people who attempt to point shoot. If they point it, and then look at the sights, they will be sort of close to alignment. That’s pointability.
You have to learn to do that with those 3 oddball designs. Yes, they work, but not naturally for most people. After you work with them for a bit, you should automatically correct for the grip angle when you pick it up. Well, it does for me, but it seems to be a variable for some shooters.
