What’s wrong with this picture?

Some imbecile of a professor wore protective gear to his class because they allow guns on campus.

  1. Kevin Baker Says:

If he believes himself so bad a professor that he needs to be concerned about a student shooting him, perhaps he should change professions?

  2. rickn8or Says:

Oh, FFS. As if a geography professor at a community college is a target. Didn’t say anything about “illegal” guns being carried before, now crapping his pants over licensed CCW’ers. Attention whore…

(How did campus carry work out over the last year at the 4-year universities?

(And I’m jealous that Texas has this and Tennessee doesn’t have anything even close to it.)

  3. Lyle Says:

The allowed guns aren’t a problem. The disallowed guns (and especially those who bring them) are the ones to look out for.

We must question the sanity of said professor because he believes that disallowing guns will prevent violent felons from bringing them, that the only thing stopping a criminal from bringing a gun is the restriction on bringing guns. But in that case there are still violent felons on campus (who violate all manner of laws and yet obey gun restrictions) who could kill him in any number of ways without using a firearm.

On the other hand, if Professor believes that all restrictions are all-powerful, he should be content with the restriction against murder. In that case the presence of guns in no problem whatsoever because no one is allowed to commit a crime. If no one is allowed to commit a crime, then we can all have guns and no negative outcome can possibly result from it.

Then again; the fact is that Professor is merely pretending to be afraid, as a political hack, because making one’s self a victim in his world means you’re entitled to fawning sympathy and deference. In short; he’s throwing a temper tantrum because his authoritarian alliance didn’t get its way.

    Douchbag

  5. mikee Says:

“”There is nothing on this planet worth a human life.”

And he argues adult, law-abiding, legally permitted humans should not be allowed the legal use of guns to protect human life.

    Cognitive dissonance, it hurts.

Has he been wearing that outfit in his daily life up to now? No? Idiot.

  6. Paul Koning Says:

That picture certainly demonstrates he is mentally unfit to teach any subject, at any level, to anyone.

  7. Ron W Says:

People have the freedom to carry guns many other places too. Is he gonna wear his protection everywhere he goes too? Fine, he has that right under the 9th Amendment.

  8. divemedic Says:

mikee: Not dissonance. That is because there is a fundamental difference in how they think. They think that all life has equal value. That is, a murderer’s life has the same value as his victims. If you shoot him in self defense, a person has still died- the same as if you had not defended yourself, and the murder had been successful. Therefore, BOTH should be illegal.

I don’t agree with that logic, because simply making something illegal doesn’t stop it from happening, but at least I see where he gets his crackpot ideas.

  9. Ravenwood Says:

“There is nothing on this planet worth a human life.”

    I take hit he’s anti-abortion then?

  10. mikee Says:

Divemedic, he can think that way if he wants to do so, but he will always be wrong to do so.

  11. RandyGC Says:

“Smith said he’s also concerned for when an argument
breaks out again and a person is armed”

I think there might some projection going on here as well. He may assume everyone has his lack of judgment, reasoning and ability to evaluate a threat environment.

In which case I agree, he should not be carrying a gun.

  12. HL Says:

This is like a bad episode of “Saved By The Bell”.

Well, I repeat myself. This is like an episode of “Saved By The Bell”.

  13. HL Says:

And consider, while you have been out working hard to provide for your children, assholes like this have been raising them.

No, not a one of them spend more time with your kids than you do, but collectively they do…and most of them sing from the same bullshit songbook. The fact your kids get the same message from so many different teachers in their lives, as well as pop stars and social media, makes instilling your values in them successfully most improbable.

Oh, most the students are laughing at him, but they are still soaking up his message.

  14. Rob T Says:

::shrugs:: Doesn’t phase me. He’s practicing his right to free speech as we get to practice our right to bear arms. Well, except for the fact that I’m in the effing state of NJ where ownership is made rather difficult.

  15. Divemedic Says:

When you are speaking as an agent of the government, you do not have rights, you have powers. He can practice free speech on his own time, but while he is at school, drawing a government paycheck, he is NOT an individual

  16. Ritchie Says:

OTOH, off the clock he can sell you car insurance (image 1).

  17. rickn8or Says:

Perhaps he should be required to wear the gear in class every day of the term.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
