Constitutional carry on the move

In Wisconsin and Michigan.

A list

The 72 Types of Americans Considered Potential Terrorists. Hmm. One group, oddly, is missing from that list.

Gun Porn

This is a 9mm carbine made out of Sten MkIII parts, AK parts, a chunk of tubing, and a crappy suppressor made out of the rear strut tube from a Jeep Cherokee, fender washers, and window screening. Just because.

Know your enemy

Fortunately for the pro gun side, our opponents are generally very stupid.

Para returning?

Looks like they’ll be coming back with a Remington rollmark.

Hadn’t thought of that. I’ve found the car repair videos worthwhile.

In this day and age, it seems unusual

My Carry Gun Is Outdated and Weird. My first handgun was a 6903. I liked it a lot. But then I got a Sig.

A civil rights victory

Texas legislature removes the “illegal” definition on most knives. Cool.

But narrative!

I was told he was good on guns

Trump’s lawyers are asking SCOTUS to reject the second amendment claim of non violent felons, who committed their crimes 20 years ago:

But the Justice Department under Trump has embraced the same position in this case that was adopted under President Obama: to defend strict enforcement of a long-standing federal law that bars convicted criminals from ever owning a gun, even when their crimes did not involve violence.

I’m not a fan of this move by the Justice Department.

Stick to your gun issues

I agree. The NRA should be single issue. Advancing positions on other issues may scare away people who are otherwise sympathetic to the cause.

Facebook censoring discussion of guns

Of course, they are.

The Brady Campaign to Cling to Relevancy is calling the national reciprocity bill the Zimmerman Bill.

Great resource

I’ve really been enjoying Greg Ellifritz’s series called the Weekend Knowledge Dump. Go there and get some clue.

I have the Apex Tactical Armorer’s Block. It works on both Glocks and M&Ps. ShootingIllustrated has a write up here.

I used mine extensively when I was installing various Apex trigger upgrades to the Morrissey.

How to fail at fact checking?

Do you even Google, bro?

A bill to allow certain military members to carry handguns in Oklahoma communities without a handgun license has been signed into law by Gov. Mary Fallin.

I really don’t have a problem with this. But if they can be exempted, I’d say your average gun owner could be too.

Seen at Joe’s:

In 2015, NICS denied 106,556 background checks. In 3,625 cases, a denial was overturned on appeal.

I was also unaware that in October 2015, they stopped processing appeals.

From the facebook page of Tacsoup:

Registration leads to . . .

Someone may have hacked into Florida’s database of carry permit holders. And they may have info on 16,000 gun owners.

It’s a start

Report: Regulation Has Essentially Ground to a Halt Under Trump

I wouldn’t call it grinding to a halt. It’s just that there are significantly fewer new regulations being approved since Trump has been elected. But it is a start.

Airsoft meets an AK

This looks like a terrible way to put an optic on an AK. It doesn’t co-witness. You’d have to take the sight off to clean it. Then re-zero. The Ultimak is clearly a better solution, if you’re into AKs.

You can have my drone

When you pry it from my cold dead hands.

The FAA was trying to register drones. Well, someone sued them over it and the court ruled the FAA doesn’t have the authority to regulate drones. Good.

Quote of the day

Nancy Pelosi continues her downward spiral:

To have a president say, if he did, to the director of the FBI, or the DNI, the Director of National Intelligence, or the NRA person thatum, uh, that they should not go forward, it raises questions that need to be answered in a facts and law way, and not hearsay

Who knew we had that much power?
