Neat

Robb’s home made 1911 grips. And, of course, the internet is full of assholes.

That’s a really nice home. Making 1911 grips and all.

    Just really couldn’t help that.

Those are some nice grips though.

    Nice.

One time, I watched a carpenter, working at my house, rip an 8′ board with a Skilsaw. I told him, “I did the same thing with my handsaw, yesterday”. He said, “Yeah, if you have nothing else to do that day”.

Illegitimi non corburundum. We are a tool-using species.

Today I learned what wenge wood was, and why the dust is toxic and that the splinters cause sepsis. Neat stuff. Looks great carved into grips. Walnut 1911 grips won’t try to kill you, though they aren’t as cool looking.

I might compromise with mesquite, which is also hard to work and noxious, but which can always be re-used for smoking brisket on the grill.

  6. Robb Allen Says:

Maybe I should go that route- “My grips are 100% pure mesquite wood, just as good for 1911s as they are tossing them in your grill to flavor your salmon!”

“Get a Grip BBQ” has now been born, and should be raking in millions by the end of the fiscal year. Send my royalty checks whenever you get around to it.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
