I saw Rick Derringer live at what was then the ‘Capital Center’ where the Washington ‘Bullets’ (oh the horror, how scary) and the Capitals used to play (not each other). I think Molly Hatchet headlined but the outlaws blew them away. It was hours long with several bands. I seem to remember a lot about it, I must have been driving that night.

Plus, I mean, hey, he’s Rick Derringer, he needs some protection, a deranged fan might recognize him and try to harm him. Oh, wait…

Interesting that the magazine (or more likely, the ammunition inside) is what actually got him caught. So apparently, at least ONE of the guys charged with keeping weapons off flights knows what ZOMG BULLETS! looks like on a scanner, but not so much a slide assembly or trigger group. Why am I less than surprised?

I personally want to thank Rick Derringer and his “I’ve done this hundreds of times” for screwing things up for all the rest of us.
