Obeying the law = loophole

Some pants shitting hysteria over 80% lower receiver kits. And I really doubt that guy drilled out the lower with a hand drill.

And naturally nbc has no comment section.

  2. Ravenwood Says:

I’m still trying to find a “30 caliber magazine clip” to buy.

  3. rickn8or Says:

Police say criminals are well aware of the availability of “ghost guns,” and they’ve been used in shootings across the country, from Maryland to California. “

I call bullshit. If this were a common occurrence, we’d have heard about it in the media long ago.

When I first heard this, I went looking online for the supposed “ghost gun” kits just to have it straight in my head, when I inevitably have to explain it to someone who buys the pants-shitting.

I could not find a full gun kit that only had to be assembled anywhere. The one other article I found (at Wired), the guy needed a chunk of metal and a $1500 lathe to complete the kit.

Yeah, ok. If a criminal wants an untraceable gun, a couple bucks and a file is all it takes. But even still, the gun being *used* and/or *confiscated* will make it very traceable…

Also, all the kits I saw (and the ones NBC and Wired referenced) were AR-type, and aside from a few terrorists, I do not recall hearing any confirmed AR usage in crimes. Generally criminals want something smaller.

Ravenwood: Careful, tomorrow NBC’s going to say “online gun nuts searching for magazines capable of firing fully loaded 30-round clips from their Assault Rifle 15 bullet hoses.”

Why use a hand-drill when you can buy an inexpensive drill-press that’s perfectly adequate?

  6. Andrew Says:

I too note that there’s no place for “comments”.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
