Gun Porn

HK SP5K. Totally impractical but I kind of want one. Rather like the Mossberg Shockwave. Totally impractical and probably unpleasant to shoot. But I want one.

I shot an SP89 a long time ago. It was interesting to shoot and not ins good way

I got my hands on one of Cobray’s “The Rogue” 12″ barreled Mossberg AOWs back 30 years ago.

I – damn quickly – swapped the pistol grip for a Pachmayr Vindicator and a bit later the barrel for a standard version chopped back to just in front of the magazine tube.

Everyone who decides to try their hand with it usually fires one shot, and then thanks me as they hand it right back.

    .44 special….oh my….

I’ve shot a Mossberg AOW with a bird’s head grip, and even with slugs it’s surprisingly manageable.

Now AIMING is a bit of a challenge….but that’s a good application for a laser!

Say what you will about Suarez… …he has been talking lately about pistol grip only shotguns, speaking to the limited situations when they can actually be useful and how to shoot them:

Don’t bother with the (S)P5K, unless you can add the PDW stock to it. In the non-shoulderstock subgun class, it is probably the best, but that is damning with faint praise. Worthless class of gun, basically.

With that folding stock, it became my favorite subgun. Amazing transformation. That’s an American made stock, btw. Choate makes them for H&K.

  7. Ravenwood Says:

MSRP of the Mossberg Shockwave is only $450? Last gun show I was at the dealer was asking $1200.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
