Speaking of “sufficient common sense gun safety laws”

Congress has launched a Congressional Second Amendment Caucus. They are looking to pass pro-gun bills and undo several decades worth of erosion to second amendment protections.

i remember the 2004-2008 iteration; i believe marilyn musgrave was behind it. it attempted nothing, and accomplished less. fingers crossed for something more useful this time around.

Passing a “pro gun law” is a contradiction of terms.

No, Grasshoppers; Repeal, repeal, repeal. Better yet, get it done in one swoop by declaring strict enforcement of the second amendment against all attacks, past, present and future. That’s the only pro gun law we ever needed, and even it is redundant.

Start locking up the offenders (politicians, judges and police who violate the second amendment), and the problem goes away. Anything else is just political horseshit, signifying a lack of commitment and demonstrating a lack of understanding of the definition of “rights”.

We’re all so deep into the generations-old culture of American Progressivism (top down micro management of society by an elite class, i.e. wholesale rights violation) that we’ve forgotten how liberty works. It works by getting the fuck out of the way, not by passing laws. It works by not allowing laws to be passed, and that is why we have a Bill of Rights; “Congress shall make no law”, “shall not be infringed”, etc. Get it?

I forecast a massive gust of hot air spewing out of the Beltway. Nothing more.

Any bets that the only politicos who support this are ones who’re up for re-election in the mid-terms who hope to get our votes?

I hope this isn’t just some more political pandering. This is the type of “Hope And Change” that we have been waiting for.

It will look good in ads during election season, but unless they get something passed, that is all it will do.

Seconding what Lyle wrote. It is time to stop playing political games seeking “compromise”. Our civil rights are being violated now and it must stop.

The logical solution to all this is for Congress to pass a law reiterating that the 2nd Amendment means exactly what it states – that the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. Consequently, all Federal, state and local laws or executive orders that infringe shall be considered unconstitutional, unenforceable, null and void, and hereby revoked. Further, all those who do attempt to enforce these unconstitutional laws and orders shall be arrested and prosecuted in Federal courts under Section 242 of Title 18 – deprivation of rights under color of law.

In other words – no reciprocity of CCW licenses or peculiar weapons configurations needed in any states, territories or possessions of the United States, especially in those hotbeds of liberty like California New Jersey, New York and Massachusetts that would refuse to comply.

Please fix CA first. Undo all the nonsense that Gov. Moonbeam and the psychotic liberal legislature has saddled us with.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
