Dress around the gun

I concur. It bears repeating. This is advice that is useless to a lot of people. Not everyone can wear an untucked shirt and jeans everywhere they go. I can so I carry a full-sized 9mm with a light on it in a holster.

“Not everyone can wear an untucked shirt and jeans everywhere they go.”

Partly true, but misses the point. Those who can’t wear “an un-tucked shirt” can almost always wear a light sweater, long blouse, sport jacket, vest, etc., etc., etc., etc…

    There are almost always options.

That is, unless you’re actively searching for excuses. In that case you have all the excuses you need, always.

The only real excuse for not being able to carry concealed would be when you’re forcedly shaved bald AND stark naked, and even then we’ve heard of, uh, “creative” ways to carry concealed anyway. So quit yer bitchin’; I’m noy buying it. Ever.

    Lyle,

Come to Atlanta in August and tell me everyone can wear a light sweater all the time.

You can wear a light sweater in Atlanta in august. You’ll die of a heat stroke but it can be done. I go for pocket carry most of the time with a Sig p938. Don’t have to think about dressing around it and 7 rounds in the gun and a 7 round extra mag should handle most problems.

I sort of agree with Lyle, in that there’s always a way to carry a concealed pistol. It may not be your preferred Glock 17 or 1911, but in Atlanta in August, you can still carry a J-frame or a single-stack 9mm in a pocket. I know because I’ve done it.
However, my main gripe with appendix-carry proselytes is that they seem to think nobody tucks their shirt in anymore. Having had to wear a shirt and tie to work for 30 years, I’ve gotten into the habit of tucking my shirt in, and I never wear untucked shirts. So you can rhapsodize about AIWB all you want, it ain’t happening here.

I’m 35 miles from Atlanta, been here 25 years. I’m retired and the uniform of the day is a T-shirt, shorts and sandals at least 9 months out of the year. I’ve been carrying the P3AT for almost as long as KelTec has been making them. Jeans and flannel shirt in winter and my G26 or G19 works real well.

For those who think they can carry full size in shorts and a T-shirt usually get jumped from behind and loose their weapon. :o)

I carried a cz pcr under a sportcoat this summer in Charlotte, no problem.

  7. Ravenwood Says:

Meh, I just open carry or let it be slightly exposed. It really doesn’t matter all that much in Virginia. Besides that bra would never fit me, it’s way too small.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
