And I think that we could soon see suppressors regulated as firearms. The scare factor around them seems to be fading. And there are now record sales of the things.

I think just selling suppressors as suppressors and not as silencers will eliminate about 99% of the public anxiety about them. This use of language works for our opposition, who created “Saturday Night Specials” and “Assault Weapons” out of thin air, specifically to confuse the public.
I think we can use correct language to avoid inflaming public opinion. What are the anti-gun crowd gonna do, cry about “silencers” that exist only in movies, when we are only talking about “suppressors”?
