If America cared what the rest of the world thought, we’d be metric

Europe hates that Americans have superior technology err air conditioning. I live in an area where people who don’t have air conditioning die often enough. Transposing a map of the US over Europe along the same latitudes is interesting. I’m in about Cyprus.

I’d love to put up those Euroculls who think that we don’t need A/C to Phoenix Arizona for 2 weeks in lodging without A/C at this time of the year and then ask them if they still think that we’re wusses because we have A/C. Assuming that they aint croaked from heat stroke during their stay.

I was stationed in the UK in 1975-77. The Limeys were dropping like flies from the heat in the summer of ’76. The temps got into the mid 80s. That was “searing hot” to them.

Those dumbfucks had over 14,000 people die off during a 2003 heat wave.

  4. Dustin Says:

In the 2003 heat wave, France had a total of 7 days over 104 between July and August both. In Alabama, we’d call that a mild summer.

There are basically two types of countries in the world: 1) countries who have landed on the moon and 2) countries who use metric.

My Texas latitude is somewhere between Cairo and Jerusalem. I don’t believe there is any Europe in that zone. I’m more of a fan of heat than cold anyway. That cold just seeps into me, and once my feet get cold, sleep is off the table.

  7. TS Says:

Wait, why would it matter if we use air conditioning? Electricity has “zero emissions”. That’s what all the Teslas and Leafs have printed on them.

I do agree that we tend to over air condition though. Can’t go to Vegas in the summer without packing a jacket because it so freakin cold indoors.

    Dear Europe;

Over the last 240 years we, the United States of America, have whipped your sissy asses in every war we’ve fought against you, liberated your sissy asses from conquerors who were a little less sissified than you are, and have protected your whiney asses from wannabe conquerors, so show some respect for your betters.

P.S. If we want you opinion about how to do things in our country, we’ll bomb it out of you.

Yours truly, the United States of America.

I think the same thing when I listen to some jackwad saying about golf, “It is a game meant to be played while walking.”
Okay, but only if you play in Canada NOT Algeria.

Let the ‘peans come to more or less sophisticated Los Angeles, where the daytime temps have been around 100F or higher (38 for those people who’s country hasn’t landed and returned from the moon).

I have been pointing out for sometime that the entirety of Great Britain is well to the north of the US Canadian Border. It was always very hard for my friends to accept. They don’t teach Geography anymore.

  12. Chas Says:

I saw there’s a petition online to eliminate air conditioning for all State Department employees. Put up or shut up, John Kerry. BTW, they’d lynch him, and on a hot day too, and good for them. Take your own people back to the stone age first, John, and let us know how that works out for you, you ignorant commie scumbag.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
