    Seems like a $200 tax is not as restrictive as it was 80 years ago. It helps that the free world has realized that suppressors are safety devices and many allow them while hunting.

  2. Geoff Says:

    According to the NFA Registered Weapons (2/2015), the largest numbers are Destructive Devices and Silencers.
    Machine Guns are static due to the Hughes Amendment, the only increases are to Law Enforcement.
    DD = 2.246.984
    Silencer = 792,282
    MG= 543,073 of which ~ 175,000 are transferable to civilians

  3. Publius Says:

    But these are “dangerous” and “unusual!”

  4. Geoff Says:

    Total number of NFA registered weapons as of 2/2015.
    4,159,569
    Includes AOW, DD, MG, Silencer, SBR and SBS.

  5. 1 With A Bullet Says:

    I expect that after 2017 the numbers will be lower since they decided to stem the influx of $200 payments with ATF 41F. A big surge 6-8 months from now thanks to the in-b4-7/13-crowd and then they’ll realize how much revenue ATF isn’t collecting.

  6. Chas Says:

    Lions, and tigers, and bears. Oh, my. Where’s my Sleepytime, Extra tea? Past my bedtime already. Good night. What kind of idiot loses sleep over NFA weapons? Idiots. More likely to be hit by lightning in one’s sleep.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
