FBI goes with the Glock and the 9mm

So, a 17 or a 19? But the RFP says there are to be no finger grooves, which Glocks have. So, either they’re gonna dig up some Gen 2s or start making new ones? We’ll see.

  1. Lyle Says:

They’ll need an “FBI Load” for it then, so the 9 mm ammo will have approximately 380 Auto ballistics.

So, the round blamed for the death of their agents in Miami is now their issue round again. That’s the government for you…

  3. Robert Says:

Just wondering, WTF does the FBI have against finger grooves?

  4. mikee Says:

If Glock calls their grip shape something like “contoured slide exterior” then, by definition, there aren’t finger grooves on a Glock.

Sort of like making thumbhole stocked AR-15s for sale in CA back in the late 1990s, except all that need be changed by Glock is a spec sheet.

I say this as a person who obtained an oscillating fan for my lab through GSA, which was (at the time) a specifically forbidden item in GSA ordering guidelines.

  5. Larry Says:

Glock supposedly submitted a new Generation in that there were no finger grooves, slightly enlarged magazine well, ambi slide stops (which they have had but never placed on production models)and the magazine floorplate toe was extended foreword. Reportedly to be sold to the public this fall.

  6. Deaf Smith Says:

Glock should call their finger groves, “Tactical grip enhancements” and charge an extra $50 per gun.

The FBI will then gladly buy them.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
