Not helping

So much fail:

Road rage nearly escalated into a “High Noon” showdown in a Cleveland suburb when an angry motorist challenged another man to a draw.

William Keener, 67, apparently was so enraged Tuesday that he rammed his car several times into a car driven by a 64-year-old woman, according to police. Her 71-year-old husband was riding in the car.

Both cars pulled over on Detroit Road in Westlake, and Keener got out. Police said he then threatened to kill the couple, who were not identified. Words were exchanged.

At this point, the confrontation turned into a scene from a spaghetti western.

The husband in the car announced he had a concealed carry permit and put his hand over his gun.
Keener responded that he also had a concealed carry permit and pulled out a .45-caliber pistol from his waistband.
He then dared the man in the car to draw.

I knew things like this were going to happen when Ohio started handing out CCW permits to just anybody. /s

Seriously people, you’re all old enough to know better; what if your grandkids saw you acting like this?

Rule #1 for driving: Stay in the #$%@ing car.

Rule #2 for driving: If the other guy gets out of the car, you’re still in your car. Drive away.

That being said, it sounds like the 71 year old husband was trying to get the guy to leave by announcing that he was armed. Other news stories suggest that the car was disabled by Keener ramming it several times, which is pretty much the only reason for violating my driving rules.

“If you’re going to shoot, shoot. Don’t talk.”

If you’re not going to shoot, don’t talk about your gun.

Back to back they faced each other, pulled out their swords and shot each other.

A deaf policeman heard the noise and came to kill to dead little boys.

If you don’t believe my story is true, ask the blind man, he saw it to!

These guys were idiots. Foolish nitwits.

  5. JTC Says:

Like you said, doesn’t help the cause; this is the kind of shit the anti nitwits said would happen.

You know what is funny/ironic/stupid though? While it’s easy to say these must be senile oldsters gone crazy, the truth is they are of my own boomer gen…probably had flowers in their hair, rockin’ out, tokin’ out, and all about the peace and love in the 60’s.

Now that they’re in *their* 60’s, the real world has taken its toll, and now they’re…senile oldsters gone crazy; skipped right over responsible adulthood I reckon. Old hippies don’t die I guess, they’re just a different kind of stupid.

I actually see a lot of potential for this kind of crap in the q-tip capitol here in fla, and a shit-ton of them should not have either carry permits OR driving permits. Can’t afford their kind giving ammo, as it were, to those who would use their stupid to take my gun and yours…’course you don’t hear about them trying to take their cars, which would actually save a lot more lives.

After more than twenty years of hysterical warnings about such incidents, one has finally occurred.

    Shit happens.

  8. markm Says:

There was a similar incident in Michigan a year or two ago, but the two CCWers shot each other dead. What the gun-grabbers really hate talking about in this incident is that the guy who was clearly at fault both driving and after he got out of his car was a former sheriff’s department employee (a jail guard). It looks like the sheriff’s department had covered up previous misbehavior, that if prosecuted like an ordinary citizen would be, would likely have prevented him from getting a CCW, and possibly from legally even touching a gun.

  9. Ron W Says:

@markm, And the gun-grabbers want the hired government guns to impose gun control on the rest of us. That is, take from others what you keep for themselves–it’s what criminals do.

Given that the link is from the San Francisco Chronicle, I think some caution about commenting is indicated here.

  11. Heath J Says:

    @ Richard,

Nope, it’s legit. That’s local to me, and accurately reported.

  12. comatus Says:

In actual westerns, they’d say this was “like Cleveland.”

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
