A civil rights victory in DC

Good:

A federal judge has ruled that a key provision of the Districts new gun law is likely unconstitutional, ordering D.C. police to stop requiring individuals to show good reason to obtain a permit to carry a firearm on the streets of the nations capital.

In imposing a preliminary injunction pending further litigation, U.S. District Judge Richard J. Leon reignited a running battle over the Second Amendment in the District and its courts where three different judges have now weighed in with varying conclusions.

    It’s a right, so it’s a choice.

They could read the 2a. It’s not like it’s some kind of a burden or something. It’s one sentence, for crying out loud.

All other attempts are a lie.

It’s been a good week for gun owners. Wins in D.C. and the 9th Circuit!

Good. Now do those idiots in New York.

Yup. We all know what it says. But then the coercives will say we’re “playing fast and loose with the second amendment” by reading it the way it was written. And yes; the Bill of Rights is a “fast and lose” concept, if one chooses to see it that way.

The proper answer is; you don’t like it? Tough. That’s exactly why it exists; so people who hate it can’t do anything about it. That’s the whole point.

  6. Ron W Says:

Only people have rights. The government has NO rights, only delegated powers from the People.

  7. Fûz Says:

+1 Ron W: govts have powers, not rights.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
