I think everyone should

Should Photographers Carry a Gun on the Job? Of course, I also think everyone should carry a camera.

Thankfully, these days, it’s pretty easy.

“I also think everyone should carry a camera.”

    Solid advice.

I carry a gun, and I shoot people all the time with my camera. 😉

I still carry, in the truck glove box, the teeny digital camera I have had since before cell phones had cameras. Well, since before MY cellphone had a camera.

And I still carry, in the truck glove box, the teeny Glock 42 that I got just before Glock announced the release of the Glock 43.

Both are less than optimal devices, seen from the present day. Both work just fine for their intended purposes.

I didn’t carry when I was a shooter (clickclick) because I wasn’t into the whole self-protection thing then as I am now. I did have a client who carried, chiefly because he turned state’s witness in a cocaine scandal in the 80’s.
Apparently, ad people did a lot of blow back then. Who knew?
Photographers tend to a) have a lot of gear that’s easy to pawn (I had an F3 and a few lenses taken from my truck. I still miss that 85mm f1.8.) and b) tend to have studios in the industrial areas of town where rent is cheaper.
    Two good reasons to carry.

Where’s Oleg? Seems this is his rice bowl.

I carry and so do my models. Why wouldn’t we?

Carry during a photography session? Arguable. Carry going to or from a photography session, with lots of valuable equipment? That’s quite another matter.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
