Excessive booger-hooking of the bang-switch

itspins

At a water pistol fight, a man “accidentally” shot a teenager:

And when he went to holster it he was spinning it on his finger, he pulled the trigger and accidentally shot her near the collarbone

Egad. Don’t do that.

Ack! I saw this story last night, but it didn’t have the cowboy spinning part. Durrr.

  2. Jeffersonian Says:

Well. If he accidently shot her he isn’t particularly culpable. And besides that I personally hate getting wet. So I might have also pulled that trigger. Just saying.

  3. RAH Says:

Just what we need a careless gun owner . These acts of stupidity give ammo to the argument that people can not be trusted with guns

  4. Sid Says:

In my opinion, the news article opened more questions than it answered. In the words of the female assistant US Marshal in the Fugitive, “Care to revise your statement, sir?”

  5. Lyle Says:

Yeah, well it helps to understand the difference between a single action revolver (“cowboy guns”) and a double action.

  6. Deaf Smith Says:

And a Glock Lyle. DA revolvers with heavy DA trigger pulls are not particularly capable of AD/ND by twirling.

Semi-autos, on the other hand, can be very bad news.

  7. Lyle Says:

The point is that, if the hammer is not cocked, there’s nothing you can do to the trigger of a single action (revolver or semiautomatic) to make the gun fire.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
