The question then, is; Why are violent people anti-gun?
There are two answers, often overlapping.
1. They assume we’re as prone to violence as they (projection).
2. They know that if they’re armed and lots of other people are not, they have an advantage they could never otherwise have.
Answer 2 assumes that the anti-gun violent will flout the gun ban laws and we’ll be stupid enough or intimidated enough to obey them. That is at least partially true, they know it, and so there’s their advantage. What after all could be better for a predator than millions of unarmed, potential victims, vulnerable and intimidated, ripe for the picking?
That’s all you’ll ever need to know about the issue.
