Crossing the line

In TN, careful where you keep your gun when you have it in the car. This, of course, is easily mitigated by having a permit.

Not so easily mitigated. Some folks have the damndest time bowing their knee to the state, paying a tax, & waiting for a laminated permission slip to enjoy a fundamental human Right. It would be much easier for governments like Tennessee’s to stop imposing upon Rights than it would for people like me to pretend they have any legitimate authority to interfere with them.

In this matter, our rights are clearly DECLARED in the Tennessee Declaration of Rights, Article I, Section 26. And that section RESTRICTS the Legislature to only regulating “the WEARING of arms with a view to prevent crime.” So Tennesseans have a RIGHT to keep and bear, which means CARRY, arms for their self defense. How we WEAR what we choose to carry is the ONLY laws that the State Legislature may enact and that LEO may enforce!! Weapons in our vehicle or on our person are OUTSIDE the purview of State government, only how the weapons are worn, holstered, open, slings, etc. Demand the our Officials OBEY their oath of office!!!

Ron W, do you have any source reference for your statement on the original meaning as written. I agree with you. The “eye toward safety” clause has been misconstrued as well.

I just read the wording in the Declaration of Rights according to the rules of English grammar. It’s very plainly stated. It’s the people declaring our inviolable rights to keep and bear (CARRY) arms and ONLY giving delegated power to the Legislature to “regulate the WEARING of arms with a view to prevent crime.” Remember, we the people have the rights and we DELEGATE powers to the government. The greater always delegates to the lesser.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
