Thwarted Mass Shooting
Looks like the FBI took care of one. This bit seems odd:
Hamzeh, 23, has been charged with possessing a machine gun and a silencer. Despite indications of an attempted act of terrorism, Hamzeh is not charged with any terrorism counts.
And, yes, it looks like a case of Sudden Jihad Syndrome.

The FBI got it right imho.Possession of a full auto machine gun and suppressor (presumably unregistered and illegally manufactured). Isn’t going to hit the media the way anything with the word terrorism in it would. Which is exactly what the perp wants. Well he ain’t going to get it. Hope they follow through with no bail and aggressive prosecution.

As usual, the FBI was the one supplying the machine gun and silencer. They do this periodically: supply a bomb, machine gun, whatever, and then arrest the buyer, while claiming that they thwarted an attack, even though the “terrorist” was too stupid to do anything without FBI assistance.

This one hit close to home for me because of the target. I agree that when the government supplies the tools, it’s a little hinky. However, the target was aware of the threat and the recording of the ‘sudden jihadi’ clearly shows intent.

The charged him with the easy to prove possession crime to get him of the streets. They stopped the planned attack. Next they’ll take the case to a Grand Jury to add the terrorism charges for the planned attack.

This is another one of the FBI’s bullshit entrapment cases. If you whole purpose (and budget) for existing is to fight terrorism, then you better catch some boogie men from time to time. Just like the ATF sting in Milwaukee that nabbed the mentally deficient man for firearms violation after they goaded him into it, here the FBI suggested the target, provided the money for and the actual machine gun and silencer. They egged this idiot on every step of the way and provided him all the tools he needed. They really take us for a bunch of imbeciles.

And they can’t seem to catch people who actually commit terrorism even when specifically warned by the FSB. As I recall, Ruby Ridge began with something like this, except it was ATF rather than FBI making the initial approach to the alleged “criminal”. The FBI just came in at the end to kill the woman with the baby.
