Quote of the day

In his weekly gun news, Sebastian:

Gun news is actually getting kind of scarce out there. I do not wish that to change. I have learned my lesson in regards to careful what you wish for.

It is silly that, in light of the president’s push for gun control, that there’s not a lot of gun control news out there. Election year? No matter. The democrats have already gone long on that and likely can’t come back in time for the general election.

    Unless of course there’s a conveniently-timed mass shooting…

The Dems are playing a long con on the US with their gun control plans.

They failed to make gun violence a public health issue, amenable to regulation under EPA, OSHA, etc., until legal gun ownership was extinct.

They failed to make guns a national security issue, amenable to federal dictat, when Fast & Furious blew up.

They failed to make progress on federalizing gun laws by dancing in the blood of victims after Newtown (although the trouble they instigated in many states is still unfolding and will take a decade to roll back, if then).

So they are instead demonizing legal gun ownership, trying to make the citizenry accept the moral equivalence of the Aurora theater shooter and the San Bernadino jihadists with the owner of a nightstand revolver, or a dove gun.

This will take a long time but it will work. Eventually regulations that start with “involuntary mental illness adjudication” denying gun ownership for one’s entire life, will become “ever took an antidepressant” or “got counseling in high school for a hallway scuffle.” It is slow, but it is insidious and it will work. Obama went so far as to say Congress is holding America “hostage” over guns, inflammatory language of the most demagogic sort.

We need to roll back the NY, CT, CO, CA laws enacted after Newtown, and we need to shame anyone who can’t tell the difference between self defense and murder.

Remember, I do this to entertain me, not you.
